Job Description

PwC is looking for an enthusiastic AWS Specialist to join its Data and Analytics Advisory and Cloud Engineering environment in Gurugram. This entry-level opportunity is designed for candidates with 0–1 years of experience who want to build a career in AWS cloud computing, cloud infrastructure, application deployment, monitoring, and automation. The role provides hands-on exposure to essential AWS services such as Amazon EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, and CloudWatch while allowing candidates to work alongside experienced cloud professionals. As an AWS Specialist, you will contribute to the reliable operation of cloud-based applications and infrastructure by assisting with deployments, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting day-to-day cloud operations. The position is particularly suitable for graduates who want to develop practical cloud engineering skills in a professional consulting environment.

The position covers several important areas of AWS infrastructure management and cloud operations, including access management, system monitoring, backup and recovery, security practices, and basic automation. You will help monitor application availability and infrastructure health, investigate operational issues, and escalate complex incidents when necessary. The role also involves using basic Python, Shell scripting, PowerShell, or AWS-native tools to support automation and improve operational efficiency. Candidates will gain an understanding of how cloud environments are structured and managed, including networking concepts, operating systems, IAM permissions, storage, databases, compute resources, and monitoring solutions. Exposure to DevOps technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Terraform can further strengthen your ability to contribute to modern cloud engineering and continuous delivery environments.

Working within PwC's Data, Analytics & AI and Advisory ecosystem, this role provides an opportunity to understand how cloud technology supports business transformation and data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain technical documentation, contribute to operational procedures, and support project delivery while developing a customer-focused approach to technology services. The position emphasizes learning agility, adaptability, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication. Candidates holding a B.E., B.Tech, MCA, BCA, B.Sc. in Computer Science or IT, or an equivalent qualification can be considered, while an AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or willingness to pursue one is an added advantage. This role can serve as a strong foundation for future careers in AWS Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, and Cloud Architecture.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist with AWS application deployments by supporting the implementation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of applications hosted within Amazon Web Services environments while following established operational procedures.
  • Support cloud infrastructure management across core AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, and CloudWatch, helping ensure that cloud resources remain available, secure, and properly configured.
  • Monitor cloud systems and applications by reviewing system health, performance, availability, alerts, and operational metrics, escalating incidents and unusual behavior to the appropriate technical teams.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities for cloud infrastructure and application issues by investigating symptoms, collecting relevant technical information, identifying possible causes, and supporting resolution efforts.
  • Assist with backup and recovery operations by supporting data protection, recovery procedures, operational checks, and disaster recovery activities designed to improve business continuity and application resilience.
  • Support AWS security and access management by assisting with IAM-related activities, reviewing access requirements, and following organizational security practices for cloud resources and user permissions.
  • Contribute to cloud automation initiatives by developing or maintaining basic scripts using Python, Shell, PowerShell, or AWS tools to simplify repetitive operational activities and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain technical documentation including operational procedures, configuration information, troubleshooting guides, knowledge repositories, and other documentation required for effective cloud support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, data professionals, infrastructure engineers, and project stakeholders to support cloud-based project delivery and resolve operational challenges.
  • Apply cloud and networking fundamentals while supporting environments involving virtual networks, compute resources, storage, databases, security controls, and application connectivity.
  • Stay informed about AWS technologies by continuously learning about new cloud services, infrastructure practices, automation techniques, security approaches, and emerging technologies relevant to cloud engineering.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by identifying opportunities for process improvement, maintaining attention to detail, following established procedures, and supporting consistent service delivery for internal and external stakeholders.
