The Software Engineer In Test role combines strong programming expertise with advanced testing methodologies to ensure comprehensive test coverage across web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud-based environments. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks using modern tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Python-based testing solutions. The position requires a deep understanding of quality engineering principles, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, and end-to-end testing strategies. Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases for web applications, APIs, databases, and backend systems.
• Create and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Python, or similar testing technologies.
• Define effective testing strategies and quality assurance processes that improve software reliability and release confidence.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins to support continuous testing practices.
• Perform API testing, database validations, and backend data verification to ensure application accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze application logs, investigate failures, identify root causes, and provide detailed defect reports to development teams.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps professionals, and product managers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor automation execution results and continuously improve test coverage, efficiency, and performance metrics.
• Conduct regression, integration, system, and performance testing to validate application functionality under different conditions.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning sessions, requirement discussions, and technical reviews.
• Identify potential risks, quality gaps, and performance bottlenecks before production deployments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending advanced testing tools, frameworks, and automation techniques.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), QA Automation, or Software Testing roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with the ability to develop and maintain automation frameworks efficiently.
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, test case design, defect management, and quality assurance practices.
• Experience working with Selenium, Playwright, or other modern automation testing frameworks for web application testing.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Shell Scripting, or similar technologies used for automation and system validation.
• Hands-on experience with database testing and SQL queries, preferably using MySQL or similar relational database systems.
• Familiarity with REST API testing tools and techniques for validating backend services and integrations.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and understanding DevOps-driven quality engineering practices.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
• Working knowledge of Linux or Unix operating systems and basic operating system concepts.
• Exposure to Docker, virtualization technologies, performance testing tools, or cloud-based environments will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities within agile and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements while maintaining a strong focus on software quality and customer satisfaction.
