Job Description

Medpace is hiring a Software QA Test Engineer to join its growing IT team in Navi Mumbai. As a global clinical research organization (CRO), Medpace plays a critical role in accelerating the development of life-saving therapies across industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of software applications that support clinical research operations. The QA Test Engineer will work closely with developers, stakeholders, and end users to validate applications and ensure they meet both functional and regulatory requirements.

The Software QA Test Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing manual test cases, performing backend validation using SQL queries, and identifying defects within complex applications. The role requires a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, database validation, and Agile development practices. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the engineer will ensure that software systems are thoroughly tested across all stages of the development lifecycle, contributing to high-quality application delivery.

In addition to testing responsibilities, the role involves maintaining test documentation, participating in peer reviews, and supporting user acceptance testing processes. The QA Engineer will analyze requirement specifications, ensure complete test coverage, and contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and end users to ensure that software applications meet functional and user requirements.

2. Design, create, and maintain detailed test cases, test plans, and testing documentation for software applications.

3. Execute manual testing processes for complex applications to validate system functionality and performance.

4. Write and execute SQL queries to perform backend and database validation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

5. Identify, document, and report software defects and inconsistencies while working closely with development teams for resolution.

6. Review and analyze requirement specifications to ensure complete test coverage across all functional areas.

7. Participate in peer reviews of test cases and testing strategies to improve quality assurance processes.

8. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by facilitating the execution of test scripts and ensuring user requirements are met.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, project managers, and business analysts to deliver high-quality software solutions.

10. Continuously improve testing methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and software quality.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

2. 1 to 2 years of experience in software testing, preferably within Agile development environments.

3. Strong experience in manual testing and the ability to design and execute detailed test cases for complex applications.

4. Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for backend validation and database testing.

5. Experience working with databases such as Cassandra, MSSQL, MongoDB, or tools like Studio 3T for data validation.

6. Basic understanding of data warehousing tools such as Snowflake is considered an added advantage.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies in applications.

8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

9. Attention to detail and the ability to work in regulated environments such as healthcare or clinical research.

10. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

The typical salary for a Software QA Test Engineer with 1–2 years of experience in India generally ranges between ₹5 LPA to ₹9 LPA, depending on technical expertise in testing, SQL, and domain exposure.
