Capgemini is hiring a Senior Performance Test Engineer to strengthen its Quality Engineering and Testing practice in Bangalore. This role is designed for professionals who bring deep expertise in performance testing using JMeter and hands-on experience with LoadRunner. As a key contributor to enterprise-grade applications, you will ensure systems are scalable, stable, and capable of handling real-world user loads. Performance engineering plays a critical role in digital transformation initiatives, and this position directly supports organizations in optimizing application speed, reliability, and overall user experience. In this role, you will design, plan, and execute various types of performance tests including load, stress, endurance, and spike testing. You will create and enhance performance scripts, perform correlation and parameterization, and analyze bottlenecks using monitoring tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics. The position demands strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to diagnosing system behavior across web and API-based applications. By leveraging SQL Server insights, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments, you will contribute to performance optimization strategies that improve business outcomes. This role offers exposure to large-scale enterprise systems, enabling you to build advanced performance engineering capabilities while working alongside cross-functional teams.
Roles & Responsibilities

Design and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies using JMeter, ensuring applications meet scalability and stability benchmarks under varying load conditions.

Develop, maintain, and enhance LoadRunner scripts for web, HTTP/HTTPS, and API protocols, ensuring accurate workload simulation and reliable test coverage.

Conduct different types of performance tests including load, stress, endurance, and spike testing to evaluate application resilience and response times.

Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations to development and infrastructure teams for optimization.

Utilize monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics to track system metrics, server health, and application behavior during test execution.

Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to define performance requirements and align them with business objectives.

Write and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server to validate backend performance and identify database-related performance issues.

Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines using Git and automation frameworks to ensure continuous performance validation.

Prepare detailed performance reports, dashboards, and documentation for stakeholders, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement areas.

Support performance engineering best practices, including workload modelling, capacity planning, and environment readiness assessments.
Requirements & Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, with strong foundational knowledge of software testing principles.

Proven hands-on expertise in Apache JMeter, including scripting, correlation, parameterization, assertions, and distributed testing execution.

Practical experience with LoadRunner, particularly in HTTP/HTTPS and web-based protocols, with the ability to create and manage reusable scripts.

Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, workload modelling techniques, and performance engineering concepts.

Experience with application monitoring and APM tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics for real-time diagnostics and root cause analysis.

Good working knowledge of SQL Server, including writing optimized queries, analyzing execution plans, and troubleshooting database performance issues.

Basic understanding of Java or .NET programming to interpret logs, analyze code-level bottlenecks, and collaborate effectively with development teams.

Familiarity with Git version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments to support automated performance testing in modern DevOps ecosystems.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working in agile or hybrid project environments with exposure to enterprise-scale applications is highly preferred.
