FIS – QA Automation Engineer (Selenium & Java)

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Java. You will actively participate in requirement analysis, test planning, and automation execution, ensuring that all testing activities align with business requirements. You will also collaborate with business analysts and development teams to gain functional insights and ensure accurate test coverage across applications and APIs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirement discussions with stakeholders to understand automation scope, complexity, and testing objectives.
• Design and prepare detailed test plans, test cases, and automation strategies based on business and technical requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java, ensuring high test coverage.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand functional workflows and ensure accurate test validation.
• Analyze test execution results, troubleshoot failures, and identify root causes using logs and debugging techniques.
• Raise, track, and manage defects using standard processes, ensuring timely resolution and improved product quality.
• Review release notes and assess the impact on existing automation scripts, updating them as required.
• Integrate automation testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI for continuous testing.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Estimate effort and scope for new automation tasks, managing priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with strong fundamentals in software testing and development.
• 3–5 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in the capital markets or financial services domain.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java, including building and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit for structured test execution.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git, enabling efficient collaboration and code management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI, ensuring seamless automation integration.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases, enabling effective data validation and analysis.
• Experience in testing web applications and APIs, ensuring end-to-end system validation.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring efficient project execution and collaboration.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Expected Salary:

For a QA Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in Pune, the typical salary ranges between ₹7 LPA to ₹16 LPA, depending on expertise in Selenium, Java, and financial domain knowledge.
