Job Description

The AVP – E2E Testing (QA Automation + DevOps) at State Street is a senior, high-impact position responsible for architecting and modernizing the automation, DevOps, and infrastructure landscape across multiple enterprise environments. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and management of scalable CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based infrastructure, and automated end-to-end testing strategies in Azure and AWS. The position requires deep technical experience across DevOps, test automation, IaC, cloud engineering, and environment provisioning to streamline releases for mission-critical financial platforms.

Your responsibilities will span across enabling one-click deployment environments, integrating advanced IaC practices, ensuring compliance and security within CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive reliability, scalability, and performance. As a senior technical leader, you will mentor engineers, influence design decisions, and champion DevOps best practices across the organization. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in complex, multi-environment ecosystems and can harmonize automation, cloud, security, and end-to-end testing into a unified delivery strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Lead design and implementation of fully automated build, test, and deployment pipelines across Model Office, CARS, Testathon, UAT, Pre-Prod, and other enterprise environments.

  2. Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines on Azure and AWS using Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins, and related automation tools.

  3. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, identify root causes, optimize workflows, and introduce improvements for higher reliability and performance.

  4. Ensure CI/CD ecosystems meet security, compliance, resiliency, and governance standards across all cloud and on-prem nodes.

  5. Build one-click, reproducible environments for any software version including patches, hotfixes, and integration builds.

  6. Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to create scalable, immutable deployments and establish best practices for growing IaC implementations.

  7. Develop automation tools for monitoring, alerting, deployment, and operational intelligence to support enterprise-grade platforms.

  8. Design and support distributed systems aligned with pillars such as high availability, throughput, reliability, cost optimization, and security.

  9. Mentor team members, advocate engineering best practices, and promote a culture rooted in automation, measurement, and continuous improvement.

  10. Collaborate with release, PMO, development, and operations teams to align end-to-end test automation with continuous delivery goals.

  11. Evaluate cloud architectures, troubleshoot connectivity or security issues, and validate adherence to cloud governance models.

  12. Partner with cross-functional groups to scale data systems, optimize orchestration, and support evolving business requirements within dynamic environments.

Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s/B.Tech/BE/MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, MIS, or related technical fields; MS preferred.

  2. 12+ years of experience in IT with extensive exposure to managing Test, Model Office, UAT, Pre-Prod, and similar multi-layered environments.

  3. Minimum 4+ years of hands-on DevOps experience in Azure or AWS, including CI/CD implementation, automation, and cloud deployments.

  4. Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and automation scripting with deep knowledge of IaC, DevOps pipelines, and infrastructure scaling.

  5. Strong understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps, DataSecOps, container orchestration, and modern cloud-native ecosystems.

  6. Hands-on experience with tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and cloud-based deployment methodologies.

  7. Ability to design secure and scalable architectures aligned with cloud pillars including performance, reliability, cost-efficiency, and operations.

  8. Strong command of network models, cloud security principles, identity management, and governance frameworks.

  9. Excellent problem-solving abilities and an automation-first mindset, capable of driving innovation and implementing engineering best practices.

  10. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

  11. Preferred credentials: Azure or AWS certifications, Terraform Certification (HashiCorp CTA), previous financial domain experience, and familiarity with Agile SDLC.

Expected Salary

AVP-level roles blending QA Automation and DevOps expertise typically command compensation in the range of ₹35 lakhs to ₹55 lakhs per year in Pune. Candidates with deep cloud automation experience, Terraform/Ansible mastery, and financial-industry exposure may receive offers on the higher end. State Street is known for offering strong pay, performance bonuses, and flexible work-life benefits for senior engineering roles.
