KONE – Embedded Engineer

Job Description:

KONE is seeking a talented Embedded Engineer to join its Research and Development team in Pune or Chennai. This role focuses on developing embedded software solutions that power intelligent systems used in modern mobility and infrastructure technologies. As an Embedded Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain software for embedded devices that integrate closely with hardware systems. Your work will contribute to building efficient, reliable, and scalable embedded solutions used in advanced elevator, escalator, and smart building technologies.

The position requires hands-on experience in programming languages such as C and C++, along with a strong understanding of embedded systems architecture. You will be responsible for developing and testing code for embedded devices, ensuring optimal performance and stability. By integrating software with hardware components, you will help create high-performance embedded platforms capable of supporting real-time operations and critical system functions.

Working within KONE’s innovation-driven R&D environment, you will collaborate closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver complete system solutions. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing system performance, and implementing improvements that enhance scalability and reliability. Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop embedded software solutions for hardware devices and integrated systems.

2. Write efficient and reliable code using programming languages such as C and C++.

3. Integrate embedded software with hardware components to ensure seamless system functionality.

4. Test, debug, and validate embedded systems to maintain stability and performance.

5. Optimize system performance by improving efficiency, scalability, and resource management.

6. Troubleshoot technical issues within embedded platforms and implement effective solutions.

7. Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions.

8. Maintain detailed technical documentation for embedded software designs and implementations.

9. Participate in design reviews and contribute to improving system architecture.

10. Follow industry best practices in embedded development, testing, and system integration.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.

2. Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming languages for embedded development.

3. Experience working with embedded systems and hardware-software integration.

4. Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded system architecture.

5. Strong analytical and debugging skills to identify and resolve technical issues.

6. Familiarity with system-level programming and low-level hardware interaction.

7. Experience in testing and optimizing embedded software for performance and reliability.

8. Ability to work collaboratively with hardware and software engineering teams.

9. Knowledge of version control systems and embedded development tools is beneficial.

10. Strong communication and teamwork skills within collaborative engineering environments.

Expected Salary:

For an Embedded Engineer with relevant experience in Pune or Chennai, the average salary generally ranges between ₹7 LPA to ₹15 LPA depending on expertise in C/C++, embedded system design, and real-time operating systems. Engineers with advanced knowledge of hardware integration and embedded architecture may receive compensation toward the higher end of the range.
