Barclays: Test Automation Engineer – Corporate Digital Banking

Barclays is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Test Automation Engineer to join its Corporate Digital Banking division in Pune. As part of a high-performing technology team, you'll contribute to transforming financial experiences through cutting-edge solutions. You'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing automation strategies that assure quality, reliability, and performance across complex digital systems.

In this role, you won’t just be writing test cases—you'll help reimagine the way testing is executed in a digital-first bank, working alongside experts in cloud, blockchain, machine learning, and fintech innovation. Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Java, Python, and modern testing frameworks.

• Implement Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Cucumber, and RestAssured for robust functional and API test automation.

• Contribute to high-level test design using Page Object Model and Factory Pattern best practices.

• Drive CI/CD integration using Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools for seamless test execution and reporting.

• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define acceptance criteria and ensure complete test coverage.

• Validate data integrity and logic using SQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Teradata databases.

• Use advanced tools like Insomnia, Extent Reports, and Log4j to generate detailed logs and reports.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and actively participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.

• Drive continuous improvement of QA practices by staying updated with the latest tech trends and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Perform root cause analysis on defects and partner with the development team to resolve issues swiftly.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Strong programming foundation in Java and/or Python for automation development.

• Solid hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and RestAssured.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab Duo, Bitbucket, Jenkins.

• Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS is a plus.

• Understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and tools like JIRA.

• Proficient in database testing using SQL, MongoDB, and Oracle.

• Familiarity with test reporting frameworks like Extent Reports and logging tools such as Log4j.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to collaboration.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines with high attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Expected Salary
