Job Description
Truveta is hiring a Software Engineer (Full Stack) – Clinical Intelligence to join its growing development organization in Hyderabad. This is an opportunity for software professionals to work at the intersection of healthcare data, software engineering, clinical intelligence, and artificial intelligence. The role involves developing internal annotation and administrative platforms that support clinical data modelling, note annotation, normalization, concept mapping, LLM-based labelling, operational workflows, and model evaluation. Engineers will work across both frontend and backend technologies, creating intuitive experiences with React and TypeScript while developing scalable services using NestJS, Node.js, and/or C#/.NET. The position is particularly suited to developers who enjoy solving complex technical problems and want their engineering work to contribute to meaningful healthcare and data-driven outcomes.
As part of Truveta’s India Development Center, the selected engineer will contribute to products used by clinical domain experts, technical teams, researchers, and machine learning professionals. The role requires strong capabilities in full-stack development, SQL, RESTful APIs, data structures, Python or R, and modern service architectures. Engineers will build advanced interfaces involving text highlighting, tagging, categorization, review workflows, and high-volume data interactions while creating backend services that support complex clinical data operations. Collaboration with ML engineers will also be important, particularly when converting annotation requirements into scalable solutions for LLM-based model development and evaluation. The engineer will troubleshoot data and application issues, optimize performance for concurrent users, participate in architecture discussions and code reviews, and help deliver reliable internal platforms.
This opportunity is especially relevant for professionals interested in healthcare technology, clinical informatics, big data analytics, GenAI, and real-world healthcare datasets. Truveta’s Hyderabad team is being built as a key part of its global engineering organization, giving early team members the opportunity to influence technical direction, engineering culture, and product development practices. Candidates with exposure to Spark, PySpark, Databricks, natural language processing, unstructured clinical data, electronic health records, or large-scale healthcare datasets can bring additional value. The role also requires strong communication skills because engineers may work directly with research teams and stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into executable code, high-quality datasets, and reproducible analyses. This makes the position a strong opportunity for developers seeking purposeful full-stack engineering work in healthcare and AI.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop Full-Stack Clinical Platforms: Design, build, test, and maintain frontend and backend features for internal clinical data annotation, modelling, normalization, and administrative applications.
- Build Advanced User Interfaces: Develop intuitive React and TypeScript interfaces supporting text highlighting, tagging, categorization, annotation, review workflows, and other complex interactions used by clinical and technical teams.
- Develop Scalable Backend Services: Create reliable backend services using NestJS, Node.js, and/or C#/.NET to support clinical workflows, data processing, annotation systems, and model evaluation capabilities.
- Support LLM-Based Solutions: Work closely with machine learning engineers to translate annotation requirements into scalable engineering solutions that can support LLM-based labelling, model development, and performance improvement.
- Design API Integrations: Build and integrate RESTful APIs and modern service architectures to enable reliable communication between frontend applications, backend services, data platforms, and internal tools.
- Optimize Application Performance: Improve frontend and backend performance when handling large volumes of clinical text, structured data, unstructured information, and concurrent users.
- Support Data Analytics: Work with SQL, Python, R, and other analytical technologies to help stakeholders wrangle, analyze, and understand real-world healthcare data for research and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot Technical Problems: Identify application, data, analytical, and methodological issues early, investigate root causes, and implement practical solutions while clearly communicating problems and resolutions.
- Participate in Engineering Practices: Take part in code reviews, architecture discussions, testing activities, technical planning, and on-call responsibilities while maintaining high engineering and reliability standards.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with engineers, ML professionals, product managers, designers, clinical experts, research teams, and other stakeholders across geographies to successfully execute healthcare data projects.
- Translate Stakeholder Requirements: Understand customer and research-team requirements and convert analytical questions or clinical workflow needs into executable code, reliable datasets, and practical technical solutions.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Learn and adopt new analytical tools, programming languages, GenAI technologies, proprietary platforms, and engineering practices that can improve healthcare data processing and research workflows.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should hold a graduate or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Clinical Informatics, Health Information Management, Clinical Research, Data Analysis, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated professional software development experience is required, preferably involving full-stack application development and production-quality software engineering.
- React & TypeScript: Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript is essential for developing modern, responsive, and interactive frontend applications. Familiarity with state-management technologies such as Redux is also valuable.
- Backend Development: Candidates should have backend development experience with NestJS/Node.js and/or C#/.NET, including the ability to develop maintainable services and application logic.
- REST API Knowledge: Good understanding of RESTful API design and modern service architectures is required for building integrations between frontend applications, backend systems, and data platforms.
- SQL & Data Structures: Strong proficiency in SQL and data structures is expected, along with the ability to work with complex datasets and understand efficient approaches to data processing and application development.
- Python or R: Candidates should know at least one statistical or analytical programming language, particularly Python or R, for data wrangling, analysis, research workflows, and stakeholder-driven analytical requirements.
- Big Data & GenAI Exposure: Familiarity with Spark/PySpark, Databricks, GenAI tools, large-scale analytics environments, or NLP outputs is advantageous, particularly for professionals interested in healthcare AI and real-world data.
- Healthcare Data Knowledge: Experience working with clinical notes, electronic health records, unstructured clinical data, or large healthcare datasets is preferred but not mandatory. Understanding how to process millions of patient records can be an added advantage.
- Communication & Ownership: Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, accountability, reliability, adaptability, and teamwork skills are important for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
Expected Salary
For this Software Engineer (Full Stack) – Clinical Intelligence role in Hyderabad, current Glassdoor estimates specifically associated with the Truveta position indicate approximately ₹6 lakh to ₹9 lakh per annum. Broader 2026 Hyderabad market benchmarks for full-stack developers with around 2–5 years of experience can reach approximately ₹8 lakh to ₹18 lakh annually, depending on technical depth, company type, and experience, so candidates with strong React, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, Python, Spark, and AI/data capabilities may have stronger compensation potential.
