Job Description

Volvo Group is offering an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates to join its finance team as a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in Bangalore through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). This apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences and practical exposure to corporate finance operations within a global organization. As a trainee, you will work closely with experienced finance professionals while gaining real-world knowledge in financial processes, invoice management, and enterprise financial systems. The program aims to build strong foundational skills that prepare young professionals for long-term careers in finance, accounting, and business operations.

During this one-year apprenticeship program, trainees will support critical finance activities including invoice processing, vendor account management, and payment operations. The role involves understanding accounting procedures, validating financial data, and ensuring that financial transactions comply with company policies and regulatory standards. By working on real-time financial operations and interacting with cross-functional teams, trainees will gain valuable insights into the financial management processes used by a global manufacturing and technology leader.

The Graduate Apprentice Trainee will also develop practical experience working with enterprise financial tools and systems used in global finance departments. Through collaboration with internal stakeholders and finance teams, trainees will contribute to improving operational efficiency and maintaining accurate financial records. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform invoice validation and registration activities to ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and comply with corporate accounting standards.

  • Support invoice matching processes including two-way and three-way matching to verify purchase orders, invoices, and goods receipts.

  • Assist in identifying and resolving invoice discrepancies while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to address financial queries.

  • Participate in payment processing activities by assisting with payment proposal preparation and monitoring payment-related exceptions.

  • Help maintain vendor account information by creating new vendor profiles and updating existing records within financial systems.

  • Support finance teams in maintaining accurate documentation and records related to financial transactions and vendor management processes.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and efficient handling of financial operations.

  • Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying opportunities for improving finance processes and operational efficiency.

  • Follow standard operating procedures and corporate financial policies while maintaining accuracy and compliance in financial transactions.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve understanding of finance processes and accounting systems.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field such as B.Com, BBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts including invoices, vendor management, and financial documentation.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial analysis and documentation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues efficiently.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while supporting finance operations and business processes.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies.

  • Willingness to learn enterprise financial systems and accounting software used in global organizations.

  • Familiarity with ERP tools such as SAP or Oracle is considered an added advantage for candidates interested in finance operations roles.

  • Flexible and adaptable mindset with the ability to work in different shifts when required by operational needs.


Expected Salary

The stipend for Graduate Apprentice Trainee roles under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme in India typically ranges between ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per month, depending on the organization and the responsibilities involved in the apprenticeship program. Large multinational companies like Volvo Group may also provide additional benefits such as professional training, mentorship, and opportunities for full-time employment after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
