Job Description:

The SW Test/Validation Engineer role at NXP Semiconductors is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about wireless communication, networking, and embedded systems testing. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and execute test plans for Wi-Fi and WLAN systems, ensuring validation of functional and performance requirements.
• Perform validation of IEEE 802.11 protocols across PHY and MAC layers, ensuring compliance with wireless standards.
• Analyze network traffic using tools like Wireshark and Omnipeek to identify issues and optimize system performance.
• Develop and execute automation scripts using languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL to enhance testing efficiency.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues using tools like TCPdump, logcat, and other system-level debugging utilities.
• Work with wireless testing tools such as iperf, chariot, supplicant, hostapd, and RADIUS servers for performance and security validation.
• Conduct security testing for WLAN protocols, including WPA2/WPA3 and enterprise authentication mechanisms.
• Create and manage test beds, ensuring proper setup and maintenance for accurate test execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bugs, analyze root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
• Document test results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Master’s degree (M.Tech) in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or Wireless Communication Engineering.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, wireless communication systems, and RF fundamentals.
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and wireless networking protocols.
• Familiarity with WLAN security protocols such as WPA2/WPA3 and enterprise authentication methods.
• Hands-on experience with network analysis tools like Wireshark, Omnipeek, and traffic tools like iperf and chariot.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell scripting for automation.
• Experience working with multiple operating systems including Linux, Windows, Android, and RTOS environments.
• Strong debugging skills using tools like TCPdump, logcat, and system-level diagnostics tools.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing, including test plan creation and execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to document and present technical findings clearly.

Expected Salary:

For a SW Test/Validation Engineer with 1–4 years of experience in Pune, the typical salary ranges between ₹6 LPA to ₹15 LPA, depending on expertise in wireless technologies, scripting, and testing tools.
