EXL – Test Automation Engineer (IC)

Job Description:

EXL is hiring a Test Automation Engineer (Individual Contributor) to join its Quality Engineering team, offering an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to build expertise in automated testing and software quality assurance. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and functionality of software products through the development and execution of automated test scripts. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation frameworks, executing test cases, and identifying defects in software systems. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Execute automated and manual test cases, including regression testing, to ensure consistent software quality across releases.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks that support scalable and reusable test processes.
• Review technical documentation and provide feedback to improve software design and testing strategies.
• Troubleshoot software issues by analyzing test results, logs, and system behavior to identify root causes.
• Maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, scripts, and execution reports for traceability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in test automation and software quality assurance.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Higher education diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in software testing or automation, including internships or academic projects.
• Proficiency in Java programming, with the ability to write and maintain automation scripts.
• Understanding of software testing concepts, including test cases, regression testing, and defect tracking.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in collaborative development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks is an added advantage.
• A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing practices.

Expected Salary:

The expected salary for a Test Automation Engineer at EXL in India typically ranges between ₹4 LPA to ₹10 LPA, depending on experience, technical skills, and familiarity with automation tools.
