Job Description:
Zinier is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET-1) to join its dynamic product development team in Bangalore. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of customer solutions built on Zinier’s no-code field service automation platform. As an SDET-1, you will be responsible for designing comprehensive test strategies, executing test cases, and identifying defects across mobile, web, and API layers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where quality engineering directly impacts product performance and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and ensure seamless delivery of high-quality solutions. You will also contribute to automation testing initiatives, helping the organization scale its quality assurance processes. Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and test cases to validate application functionality across mobile, web, and API platforms. Ensure all scenarios are thoroughly covered to maintain high product quality.

Review technical design documents and provide actionable feedback to improve product quality early in the development lifecycle. Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify requirements and edge cases.

Identify, document, and track bugs using appropriate tools while ensuring clear communication with development teams. Follow through the defect lifecycle until resolution and validation.

Perform comprehensive regression testing after bug fixes to ensure system stability and prevent reoccurrence of issues. Maintain regression test suites for continuous improvement.

Develop and implement automated testing scripts using tools such as Selenium or similar frameworks. Enhance automation coverage to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual efforts.

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.

Monitor and analyze quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and open defect counts. Use insights to improve testing strategies and product quality.

Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the development cycle.

Conduct API testing and validate backend integrations to ensure seamless communication between systems. Ensure data integrity and performance across services.

Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to continuously enhance QA practices within the organization.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A strong academic background provides a solid foundation for understanding software engineering principles.

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices. Candidates should understand how to design effective test strategies and ensure product quality.

Hands-on experience in testing mobile applications (Android and iOS), web applications, and APIs. Exposure to cross-platform testing is essential for this role.

Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Selenium, UFT, Ranorex, or similar frameworks. Ability to create and maintain automated test scripts is highly valued.

Good understanding of both white-box and black-box testing techniques. Ability to analyze system internals as well as validate end-user functionality.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with the ability to adapt to iterative development cycles and changing requirements.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL for database validation and backend testing. Ability to write queries and verify data consistency.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex scenarios and ambiguous requirements. Candidates should demonstrate analytical thinking.
