Job Description

Scrut Automation is hiring a skilled QA Engineer to join its growing SaaS product team in a remote setup across India. As a fast-growing information security and compliance platform, Scrut helps cloud-native businesses automate compliance processes and strengthen their security posture. This role is critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of Scrut’s web-based SaaS applications by implementing comprehensive testing strategies. The QA Engineer will work across both manual and automation testing, ensuring seamless product performance and a high-quality user experience.

The position involves owning the end-to-end quality assurance lifecycle, from exploratory manual testing to building scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing. The QA Engineer will design and maintain automation test suites using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, while also developing API automation frameworks using REST Assured or Postman. By integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, the engineer will contribute to continuous testing and faster release cycles, ensuring product stability and efficiency.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. The QA Engineer will work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to define quality standards, track defects, and improve testing coverage. The role also encourages leveraging AI tools to enhance testing workflows, optimize automation scripts, and improve debugging efficiency. Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Perform manual testing including functional, exploratory, regression, and integration testing for web-based SaaS applications.

  2. Design and develop automated test frameworks for UI testing using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

  3. Build and maintain API automation frameworks using tools like REST Assured, Postman, or Newman.

  4. Create and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and test reports.

  5. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

  6. Monitor automated test executions, analyze failures, and ensure test stability and reliability across environments.

  7. Identify, report, and track defects with clear documentation and collaborate with development teams for resolution.

  8. Participate in Agile sprint cycles, ensuring timely testing and communication of quality status, risks, and blockers.

  9. Leverage AI tools to improve testing efficiency by generating test data, optimizing scripts, and enhancing test coverage.

  10. Continuously improve QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing methodologies to enhance product quality.


Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing with hands-on exposure to both manual and automation testing.

  3. Strong programming skills in Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for automation framework development.

  4. Experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver.

  5. Experience in API testing and automation using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.

  6. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for integrating automated tests.

  7. Knowledge of test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Jest, or Mocha.

  8. Experience using AI tools to enhance QA workflows, including test case generation and debugging automation scripts.

  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in identifying defects.

  10. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report testing results effectively.
