In this role, the selected candidate will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including system design, feature development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. The position requires hands-on experience with programming languages such as Golang, Java, C, or Node.js, along with knowledge of frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.js. Developers will actively participate in architecture discussions, implement new features, improve existing services, and build robust APIs that support Smartsheet’s platform.

The role also emphasizes innovation, continuous learning, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools into the development process. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from conceptual design and development to deployment and ongoing maintenance of applications.

2. Participate in system architecture discussions to design scalable, high-performance software solutions that support Smartsheet’s collaborative work management platform.

3. Develop new features and improve existing functionalities to enhance user experience and improve platform performance.

4. Build and maintain robust APIs and backend services that enable seamless communication between different system components.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, infrastructure engineers, and quality assurance teams to deliver high-quality software products.

6. Participate in quality assurance processes including testing, debugging, and resolving defects to ensure reliable and stable software releases.

7. Utilize AI-powered development tools to improve coding efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance troubleshooting and system optimization.

8. Work closely with infrastructure and systems engineers to identify and resolve performance issues, ensuring high availability and scalability of services.

9. Develop applications based on microservices architecture to support distributed systems and scalable cloud-based solutions.

10. Maintain proper documentation for code, system architecture, and APIs to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field with strong programming fundamentals.

2. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, C, C++, or Node.js for backend system development.

3. Experience with frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and CSS preprocessors for building modern web interfaces.

4. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and software design principles used in scalable application development.

5. Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems used for building high-performance and scalable applications.

6. Experience working with Linux command-line tools and debugging utilities to troubleshoot system-level issues.

7. Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and non-relational databases like DynamoDB for application data storage and management.

8. Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS along with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

9. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex software and infrastructure issues.

10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with global engineering teams in a fast-paced development environment.

Expected Salary

The typical salary for a Software Engineer at global product-based technology companies in India generally ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹28 LPA, depending on the candidate’s programming expertise, cloud experience, and system design knowledge.
