Your work will directly influence the delivery of robust software solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The role primarily emphasizes manual testing across Android mobile applications and web platforms. You will validate application functionality, identify UI/UX inconsistencies, and ensure seamless cross-browser compatibility. Working with Android debugging tools such as ADB and Logcat, you will analyze system behavior and identify issues that impact application performance. In addition to manual testing, you will also support the maintenance and execution of automated regression test suites using Java and Selenium to ensure long-term application stability.

As a Software Test Engineer at Quest Global, you will collaborate with developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to maintain a high standard of software quality. Your responsibilities will include API testing, defect management, regression validation, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. With a strong focus on analytical thinking and a β€œbreak-it” testing mindset, you will help deliver reliable and user-friendly applications that meet enterprise-level standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the quality owner for the JCMS project by validating features and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards before release.

  2. Perform detailed manual testing for Android applications using tools such as ADB and Logcat to analyze system behavior and detect defects.

  3. Conduct cross-browser web testing to identify UI/UX inconsistencies and ensure compatibility across different platforms and devices.

  4. Maintain and execute automated regression testing suites using Java and Selenium to verify application stability over multiple releases.

  5. Perform API validation using Postman to verify request headers, payload structures, and response accuracy.

  6. Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira, ensuring clear communication with development teams for resolution.

  7. Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand business requirements and validate application workflows.

  8. Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing to uncover defects affecting user experience or business logic.

  9. Use Git for version control and collaborate with teams to maintain stable automation scripts and test frameworks.

  10. Continuously improve testing processes by identifying automation opportunities and enhancing QA strategies.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. 5–7 years of experience in software testing, with at least 4 years of strong hands-on experience in manual testing.

  2. Strong expertise in Android application testing with familiarity using Android debugging tools such as ADB and Logcat.

  3. Experience performing cross-browser testing for web applications and identifying UI/UX inconsistencies.

  4. Knowledge of Java and Selenium automation frameworks with the ability to maintain and execute regression test scripts.

  5. Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks such as TestNG or Maven for test execution.

  6. Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman for validating RESTful services.

  7. Strong experience using Jira for bug tracking and Git for version control and collaborative development.

  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying potential defects.

  9. Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle processes including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.

  10. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced Agile environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Expected Salary:

For a Software Test Engineer with 5–7 years of experience in Mumbai’s engineering services and product development sector, the typical salary range generally falls between β‚Ή9 LPA to β‚Ή16 LPA depending on expertise in Android testing, Selenium automation, and API validation. Candidates with strong mobile testing experience and automation framework knowledge may receive higher compensation aligned with industry benchmarks.
