CSG – Automation Test Engineer (C# or Java)

Job Description:
CSG is hiring an Automation Test Engineer (C# or Java) for a full-time remote role based in Bangalore, India. In this SDET role, you will join a high-performing Agile team of developers, product owners, QA professionals, and DevOps engineers to design and maintain scalable automation frameworks that ensure product reliability and performance.

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using C# with .NET/SpecFlow or Java with Cucumber, along with Selenium/Appium frameworks. You will analyze functional requirements, contribute to testability discussions during the design phase, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects. Integration of automation suites within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions will be a critical part of the role. Additionally, you will support REST API testing using tools such as Postman or RestSharp to validate backend services.

Strong fundamentals in data structures, OOP concepts, and collections are essential, along with hands-on experience in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using C# (.NET/SpecFlow) or Java (Cucumber) with Selenium/Appium frameworks.

2. Design test plans, test cases, and automation strategies in collaboration with developers, product owners, and QA teams.

3. Analyze functional and technical requirements to ensure optimal test coverage and testability.

4. Identify, document, and track defects, coordinating with development teams for timely resolution.

5. Implement and maintain automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

6. Perform REST API testing using Postman or RestSharp to validate backend integrations.

7. Create and manage test data, environments, and automation utilities for stable test execution.

8. Enhance automation frameworks to improve scalability, reliability, and execution speed.

9. Provide detailed and transparent test reports highlighting coverage, defects, and quality metrics.

10. Stay updated with evolving automation tools, trends, and best practices to drive continuous quality improvements.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

2. 2–5 years of experience in an SDET or automation-focused QA role.

3. Proficiency in either C# (.NET/SpecFlow) or Java (Cucumber) with Selenium/Appium automation frameworks.

4. Strong understanding of OOP concepts, data structures, collections, and dictionaries.

5. Hands-on experience in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.

6. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

7. Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

8. Knowledge of REST API testing using Postman, RestSharp, or similar tools.

9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

10. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum environments.

Expected Salary:

For an Automation Test Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in Bangalore (remote), the expected salary typically ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹16 LPA depending on proficiency in C#/.NET or Java-based automation frameworks, CI/CD integration expertise, and API testing skills.
