Job Description:
Harmonic Inc., a global leader in virtualized broadband and video delivery solutions, is hiring an Associate QA Engineer for its Bengaluru hybrid team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates (2024 or 2025 passouts) in Electronics and Communication Engineering to begin their careers in embedded systems testing within the rapidly evolving broadband and streaming industry. As part of Harmonic’s Devices System team, you will contribute to ensuring end-to-end product quality for cutting-edge broadband technologies powering next-generation connectivity solutions worldwide.

In this role, you will execute comprehensive test plans, identify failures, and debug issues across multidisciplinary embedded systems involving both hardware and software components. You will be responsible for end-to-end functional testing of features in an Agile development environment, collaborating closely with development teams and QA engineers. The position provides exposure to layer 3 networking protocols, Linux-based environments, and scripting tools such as Python, Perl, or Bash. Working directly with Devices Under Test (DUT), you will help validate product stability and performance, contributing to the delivery of high-quality broadband and video solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Execute existing test plans for embedded systems, ensuring accurate validation of software and hardware functionality across broadband products.

2. Perform end-to-end functional testing of features to verify system stability, performance, and compliance with defined requirements.

3. Identify, analyze, and debug failures in Devices Under Test (DUT) setups, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues effectively.

4. Validate multidisciplinary systems involving both software and hardware components in Agile development environments.

5. Work closely with QA engineers and developers to verify bug fixes and ensure regression stability before release.

6. Analyze networking behavior using knowledge of layer 3 protocols to troubleshoot connectivity and performance-related issues.

7. Utilize Linux environments for testing, log analysis, and system validation activities.

8. Apply scripting tools such as Python, Perl, or Bash (where applicable) to automate repetitive testing tasks and improve efficiency.

9. Participate in daily Agile meetings and contribute insights on quality risks, testing progress, and improvement opportunities.

10. Maintain accurate documentation of test execution results, defect logs, and quality metrics for transparency and traceability.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (2024 or 2025 passouts only) with no academic backlogs.

2. Minimum 70% aggregate score throughout academic coursework as per eligibility criteria.

3. Strong understanding of layer 3 networking protocols and basic networking fundamentals relevant to broadband systems.

4. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including basic command-line operations and log analysis.

5. Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash is considered an advantage.

6. Basic understanding of embedded systems concepts involving both hardware and software integration.

7. Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to identify root causes of system failures.

8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.

9. Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

10. Willingness to work in a hybrid model (3–4 days per week from the Bengaluru office).

For an Associate QA Engineer (fresher – 2024/2025 passout) in Bengaluru within the broadband and telecom technology sector, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹4 LPA to ₹7 LPA depending on academic performance, networking knowledge, and technical assessment results.
