Job Description:

HSBC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager – Operations to join its Fund Services – Accounting & Valuation team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for finance professionals who have experience in fund administration, NAV calculations, and financial reporting. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across Europe, MENA, and APAC, ensuring that accounting deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with international standards.

This is a key role that requires excellent leadership skills, as you will manage operational workflows, maintain client relationships, and drive service quality improvements. You will also be responsible for adhering to process KPIs, proactively identifying operational risks, and implementing effective controls to ensure smooth functioning of high-volume accounting operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage Fund Services – Accounting & Valuation operations, covering multiple geographies including Europe, MENA, and APAC.

• Oversee preparation of 200–600 GAV/NAV packs annually and ensure accuracy and timeliness of 20+ financial statements per year.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with business partners and client stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Monitor process KPIs and PLAs, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels and quality benchmarks.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives that improve operational efficiency.

• Assess and mitigate risks associated with manual processes, jurisdiction-specific requirements, and high-complexity activities.

• Support Non-Financial Risk (NFR) reviews and ensure compliance with HSBC’s risk management framework.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to the operations team, promoting collaboration and continuous learning.

• Conduct regular performance reviews, address personnel issues, and foster strong team bonding.

• Collaborate with technology and process improvement teams to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting; professional certifications (CA/CPA/CFA) are preferred but not mandatory.

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in fund administration, accounting, and NAV calculations.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, custody operations, depository functions, brokerage, and investment accounting.

• Hands-on knowledge of end-to-end Fund Accounting Models and reconciliations.

• Proven experience in handling high-volume financial reporting with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent team management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and resolve team-related challenges.

• Strong time management and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines under pressure.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with global stakeholders.

• Ability to proactively identify process gaps and implement effective solutions.

• Familiarity with operational risk management and compliance frameworks.

Expected Salary:

For the Manager – Operations role at HSBC Bangalore, the salary typically ranges between ₹12 LPA and ₹18 LPA, depending on the candidate’s experience, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities. Professionals with strong fund accounting and NAV exposure may receive compensation at the higher end of the range.
