As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll design, execute, and automate test cases for REST and SOAP APIs, leveraging leading tools like Postman, SoapUI, and JMeter. You’ll also develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, or Cypress. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and execute comprehensive API test cases—both manual and automated—to validate backend systems and business logic.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for RESTful and SOAP APIs across multiple projects.

• Develop and maintain automated API testing frameworks using Rest Assured, Karate, Cypress, or similar tools.

• Utilize Postman, SoapUI, or JMeter for validating API performance, security, and data consistency.

• Analyze API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI) to ensure accuracy and coverage, while providing actionable feedback to developers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and track resolutions using tools like Jira or Bugzilla.

• Perform data validation using SQL/NoSQL queries and ensure API responses align with backend data sources.

• Integrate automated API test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews to ensure QA best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives by implementing new tools, frameworks, and testing strategies for better efficiency and coverage.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in API testing with solid understanding of RESTful and SOAP web services.

• Expertise in using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or similar for API automation and validation.

• Strong programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Python, or similar languages for developing test automation frameworks.

• Deep understanding of HTTP methods, response codes, JSON, XML, and data parsing techniques.

• Proficiency in SQL for backend validation and data consistency checks.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps for continuous testing integration.

• Excellent analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve API-related defects.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in Agile environments.

• Added advantage: exposure to cloud-based APIs, microservices, or API security testing (OAuth2, JWT, token-based authentication).
