Job Description

Equifax is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Software Engineer to join its technology team in Trivandrum. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to work on meaningful, real-world projects using modern software development practices and cloud-native technologies. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to scalable systems, and continuously build your technical expertise in a supportive and agile environment.

As a Software Engineer at Equifax, you will be involved in designing, developing, testing, and integrating software components across enterprise platforms. You will apply core software engineering principles while working with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, microservices, CI/CD, and automated testing. This role is ideal for candidates who are curious, adaptable, and eager to grow their engineering skills while making a tangible impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement requirements for small systems or modules within larger enterprise systems.

  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and code reviews.

  • Apply modern software development practices including microservices, serverless computing, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Work collaboratively across teams to integrate systems with existing corporate platforms.

  • Participate in technology roadmap and architecture discussions to align business vision with technical solutions.

  • Engage in Agile software development practices and ceremonies.

  • Leverage automation to improve development, testing, and deployment efficiency.

  • Continuously learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies while sharing knowledge within the team.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on Java development experience.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Experience with backend technologies including Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, SOA, and Microservices.

  • UI development knowledge using HTML, JavaScript, Angular, and Bootstrap.

  • Familiarity with source control systems (Git, GitHub, SVN).

  • Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.

  • Working knowledge of Agile environments (Scrum, XP).

  • Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).

  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Exposure to automated testing tools like JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, or SoapUI.
