During your internship, you’ll gain exposure to multiple areas of Red Hat’s technology ecosystem, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenShift, and Ansible. You’ll design, develop, and maintain code using programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Java, working hands-on in an agile and collaborative environment. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with mentors to design, develop, test, and maintain software components using Python, Golang, or related languages.

• Work on new feature development, bug identification, debugging, and performance improvements for Red Hat’s products like RHEL and OpenShift.

• Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily team meetings.

• Contribute to real-world open-source projects and gain experience in containerization, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows.

• Interact with cross-functional teams such as Quality Engineering, Design, Documentation, and Product Management to ensure product quality and alignment.

• Apply open-source development methodologies to solve practical engineering problems and deliver reliable solutions.

• Collaborate in a multicultural, global engineering environment that values inclusivity and open communication.

• Document processes, share learnings, and actively participate in technical discussions and innovation forums.

• Network and collaborate with other interns to build technical and professional relationships.

• Participate in Red Hat’s training programs, social events, and mentorship sessions aimed at career and skill development.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of software engineering principles and strong interest in open-source technologies.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Golang, Java, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with GitHub, Agile development practices, and modern software tools.

• Strong curiosity to learn, experiment, and contribute to live software projects.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with attention to detail.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Willingness to work onsite from Pune or Bangalore for a 6-month internship (Jan – July 2026).

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global engineering setup.

• A growth-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for innovation and continuous learning.

Expected Salary:

The typical stipend for a Software Engineer Intern at Red Hat ranges between ₹40,000 and ₹60,000 per month, depending on academic background, technical skills, and project complexity. Exceptional candidates demonstrating advanced programming or DevOps knowledge may receive higher compensation, along with valuable exposure to enterprise-level technologies and mentorship from industry leaders.
