Job Description:
Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited is hiring an experienced System Tester for its Pune location to strengthen its Foundational Technologies team. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of large-scale, cloud-based data platforms. As a System Tester, you will play a critical role in validating complex data ingestion, transformation (ETL/ELT), and consumption workflows within modern data ecosystems. The position demands strong expertise in manual and automated testing methodologies to maintain data integrity across data lakes, warehouses, and analytics platforms supporting AI/ML initiatives.

In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, and regression scenarios for complex data pipelines. You will verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems such as AWS S3, Snowflake, and Databricks. Building and maintaining automation frameworks using Python, Pytest, or Playwright will be a key responsibility, along with conducting API testing for data onboarding and sharing services. Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines ensures faster and reliable releases while maintaining compliance with governance standards.

Beyond technical validation, the System Tester position emphasizes quality-first thinking and strong collaboration across Agile teams. You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and DevOps teams to identify issues early and drive continuous improvement in cloud data environments. Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute detailed test plans for ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring accurate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across cloud platforms.

2. Validate data consistency, completeness, and accuracy across data lakes, warehouses, and downstream analytics systems.

3. Design and maintain automation frameworks using Python, Pytest, or Playwright for functional, integration, and regression testing.

4. Conduct API testing for data onboarding, sharing, and access services to ensure secure and reliable system communication.

5. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.

6. Perform SQL-based data validation and scripting to verify backend data transformations.

7. Utilize performance testing and data quality tools to evaluate system stability under varying workloads.

8. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to identify risks, resolve defects, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

9. Support governance and compliance requirements by ensuring data traceability and audit readiness.

10. Document test results, automation scripts, and validation reports to maintain transparency and traceability.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech/M.Sc) with a strong academic background.

2. 3–7 years of experience in system testing, particularly within cloud-based data platforms.

3. Hands-on expertise in data quality assurance and automation testing for large-scale repositories such as AWS S3, Snowflake, or Databricks.

4. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, Data Warehousing, Data Lake architectures, and data governance principles.

5. Proficiency in Python scripting along with frameworks such as Pytest or Playwright.

6. Experience integrating test automation within CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.

7. Advanced SQL knowledge for validating complex data transformations and database operations.

8. Familiarity with performance testing tools and automation frameworks relevant to data systems.

9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate effectively in Agile environments.

10. Willingness to work from the Pune office (Office/Site mode) with occasional travel if required.

Expected Salary:

For a System Tester with 3–7 years of experience in cloud data testing and automation in Pune, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹20 LPA depending on expertise in AWS, ETL validation, and Python-based automation frameworks.
