🚀 Role Overview

Join Mastercard’s CDM team as a Software Engineer I where you will collaborate with experienced professionals to build high-performance, low-latency microservices in Java that are resilient, scalable, and secure.

As part of a high-performing Agile Scrum team, you will take ownership of end-to-end development — from user stories and design to implementation and delivery — while constantly innovating and improving internal systems.

🔧 Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Java-based microservices to power Mastercard’s global Consumer Data Management systems.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features.

• Write clean, efficient, and testable code adhering to Mastercard's engineering standards.

• Participate in code reviews, daily standups, and Agile ceremonies.

• Research emerging tools and frameworks, prototype new technologies, and contribute to the development of Proof-of-Concepts.

• Assist in maintaining high levels of performance, scalability, and reliability of services.

🧠 Skills & Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Java, with knowledge of object-oriented design principles.

• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and JUnit testing.

• Understanding of microservice architecture and RESTful service development.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven), and configuration tools like Chef.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as PCF or AWS is a plus.

• Basic frontend knowledge (React) is advantageous but not required.

• Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk or Dynatrace is desirable.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Self-starter with a willingness to take on challenging tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
