Job Description:

Deutsche Bank is hiring a Senior QA Engineer (AVP) to join its technology team supporting the Private Bank Germany lending division in Pune. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability and quality of the Lending Service Layer (LSL), a robust API-driven service architecture that supports mortgage, consumer loans, and securitization solutions. As part of a dynamic financial technology ecosystem, you will validate complex enterprise applications that power lending operations. Your expertise in functional and automation testing will directly contribute to secure, reliable, and scalable financial systems used by internal and external stakeholders.

In this position, you will design and execute comprehensive test strategies aligned with business and technical requirements. Working closely with business analysts and development teams, you will define holistic test approaches, execute regression cycles, and ensure seamless integration of components within the LSL environment. You will also drive automation initiatives, transforming manual regression tests into automated suites and scheduling execution in line with release cycles. Your involvement in reviewing smoke tests, analyzing defects, and ensuring high test coverage will strengthen overall application quality and reduce production risks.

This role requires strong financial domain exposure, particularly within lending systems, along with deep knowledge of QA best practices and enterprise testing tools. As an AVP-level engineer, you will contribute to maintainable deployments, enforce organizational test strategies, and uphold quality standards across iterations. By combining technical depth with stakeholder management skills, you will help Deutsche Bank deliver resilient digital banking solutions in a highly regulated financial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a holistic test strategy for the Lending Service Layer and its subcomponents, ensuring complete functional and technical validation.

  2. Design, build, and execute functional and regression test cases using HP ALM/Quality Center and JIRA for defect tracking and reporting.

  3. Convert manual regression tests into automated test suites, maintaining and enhancing automation scripts for each release cycle.

  4. Review smoke and regression test results daily, analyze failures, and coordinate with development teams for timely defect resolution.

  5. Version control test artifacts using tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Perforce, or SVN to maintain traceability and consistency.

  6. Ensure high test coverage quality by validating business logic, APIs, database interactions, and integration flows.

  7. Maintain and update test scripts based on functionality changes and evolving business requirements.

  8. Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and project managers to align testing activities with organizational test strategy.

  9. Enforce industry-standard QA practices and continuously enhance testing frameworks and processes.

  10. Promote knowledge sharing within the team and actively participate in project-wide discussions impacting quality assurance.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. 10–12 years of relevant experience as a QA Engineer, preferably within the financial services or banking industry.

  2. Strong expertise in functional testing and solid understanding of automation testing methodologies and frameworks.

  3. Hands-on experience with HP ALM, Quality Center, and JIRA for test management and defect lifecycle tracking.

  4. In-depth knowledge of the software testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, reporting, and closure activities.

  5. Strong working knowledge of SQL and RDBMS databases for backend validation and data verification.

  6. Experience working in Unix/Linux environments with basic shell scripting capabilities.

  7. Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium or HP UFT and scripting languages like VBScript, JavaScript, Shell, or Perl.

  8. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and unit testing practices in enterprise development environments.

  9. ISEB Software Testing Certification (Foundation/Intermediate/Practitioner) is desirable.

  10. Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines.

Expected Salary:

For a Senior QA Engineer (AVP) with 10–12 years of experience in Pune’s banking and financial services sector, the typical salary range falls between ₹18 LPA to ₹30 LPA depending on automation expertise, financial domain knowledge, and enterprise testing experience. Professionals with strong automation frameworks, SQL proficiency, and prior experience in banking technology platforms may command compensation toward the higher end of the market benchmark.
