Job Description:

The Test Automation and Functional QA (SDET) role at Citi is a high-impact opportunity for experienced quality engineering professionals to work on mission-critical financial systems. In this role, you will design and implement advanced automation frameworks using Selenium with Java, BDD frameworks, and modern testing tools. You will be responsible for testing web applications, APIs, databases, and microservices architectures while ensuring seamless integration with DevOps pipelines. The role also involves performance testing using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner, along with validating AI/ML systems and modern data-driven platforms, making it highly relevant for professionals working at the intersection of testing and emerging technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and TestNG.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across web applications, APIs, databases, and microservices environments.
• Develop and execute API testing using tools like REST Assured, Postman, and Swagger, ensuring seamless system integration.
• Conduct performance testing and benchmarking using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner to ensure system scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, and OpenShift.
• Write complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform database testing in SQL/Oracle environments.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and improved product quality.
• Validate AI/ML platforms and data-driven systems, including embedding-based retrieval systems, ensuring accuracy and correctness.
• Utilize containerization tools like Docker to create efficient testing environments and support cloud-native deployments.
• Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and communication with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a strong foundation in software development and testing principles.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or QA Automation Engineer, with hands-on expertise in automation frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming and experience with Selenium WebDriver, including implementation of POM and MVC design patterns.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and testing tools like TestNG and JUnit for structured test execution.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as REST Assured, Postman, and Swagger, ensuring robust backend validation.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database testing, including writing complex queries for data validation in relational databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket, and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing workflows.
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner, enabling system benchmarking and optimization.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containerization tools (Docker), and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in Agile environments and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Expected Salary:

For a Test Automation SDET role with 5–8 years of experience in Pune, the typical salary ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹28 LPA, depending on expertise in automation frameworks, performance testing, and DevOps integration.
