The Automation QA role in the HiTech domain offers an exciting opportunity to work within a cross-functional Scrum team that develops and supports innovative software products. Based in Pune, this full-time position is ideal for experienced quality engineers who are passionate about automation frameworks, regression testing, and continuous improvement across the SDLC and STLC. As part of the R&D ecosystem, you will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and support teams to ensure that every release meets the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and performance.

In this role, you will design and execute both manual and automated test suites for new features and regression cycles. Your responsibilities will span UI validation, backend database verification, API automation, and deployment testing. The position requires hands-on expertise in Selenium WebDriver with Java and REST Assured for API testing, along with scripting knowledge in Java, Python, SQL, and Shell. You will also contribute to defining automation strategies, optimizing QA processes, and enhancing overall product quality through analytical insights and structured testing methodologies.

This role goes beyond execution—it demands ownership and proactive involvement in feature discussions, defect triaging, and continuous delivery workflows. You will install and configure testing systems, support customer issue resolution, and interface with multiple R&D and services teams. Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks, harnesses, and reusable code libraries for multiple projects.

• Execute manual test cases and build comprehensive automation suites for regression and newly developed features.

• Perform UI testing, backend database validation, and API automation to ensure end-to-end system accuracy.

• Automate deployment processes and test data generation to streamline continuous integration workflows.

• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, collaborating with Product Owners and Developers to validate expected system behavior.

• Install and configure test environments with the latest product builds to support testing cycles.

• Monitor QA effectiveness throughout SDLC/STLC phases and recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.

• Manage defects using tools like JIRA and TestRail, ensuring clear documentation and efficient resolution tracking.

• Support customers and internal teams by analyzing and troubleshooting product issues at root cause level.

• Interface with cross-functional R&D, support, and services teams to align testing strategies with product objectives.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver with Java for building robust UI automation frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with API automation using REST Assured and validation of RESTful services.

• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, SQL, and Shell Script.

• Experience with version control systems like GIT for managing code repositories and collaborative development.

• Strong understanding of SQL with the ability to write and optimize complex database queries.

• Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA and TestRail for tracking test cycles and defects.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, QA best practices, and project management concepts.

• Exposure to AWS cloud environments and performance testing tools like K6 is considered an advantage.

• Ability to perform effort estimation, scope definition, and scheduling within Agile frameworks.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities in English and local languages.

Expected Salary

For an Automation QA professional in Pune within the HiTech industry, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹8 LPA and ₹15 LPA, depending on experience, automation framework expertise, and cloud exposure.
