Job Description

Zema Global is looking for a skilled QA Manual Tester to join its Quality Assurance team in Navi Mumbai. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of data-centric applications. The QA Manual Tester will be responsible for validating data workflows, database systems, and web service integrations, ensuring that software solutions meet both business requirements and high-quality standards.

The position involves performing functional testing across applications that handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data. The tester will work with SQL and NoSQL databases, validate data persistence, and ensure correct transmission of data through APIs and messaging systems. The role requires expertise in testing REST and SOAP-based web services, as well as handling data formats such as JSON and XML. By analyzing system behavior and validating data integrity, the QA professional ensures seamless integration across cloud platforms, particularly AWS-based environments.

In addition to testing responsibilities, the role emphasizes collaboration, data validation, and continuous improvement. The QA Manual Tester will work closely with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to identify defects, analyze test results, and recommend improvements. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on functional requirements and technical specifications.

2. Perform manual testing of database applications to validate data storage, retrieval, and processing across SQL and NoSQL systems.

3. Validate data transmission workflows through web services using REST and SOAP protocols with formats such as JSON and XML.

4. Test cloud-based applications and data systems hosted on AWS, ensuring data accuracy and performance.

5. Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and detailed analysis.

6. Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure complete test coverage and timely issue resolution.

7. Analyze test results and provide insights into data quality, system performance, and potential improvements.

8. Ensure compliance with data handling standards and security policies during testing activities.

9. Perform integration testing for data transfer processes including FTP-based workflows and system interfaces.

10. Stay updated with modern testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance testing efficiency.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

2. 2 to 5 years of experience in functional testing and manual QA roles within software development environments.

3. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

4. Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for backend validation and data testing.

5. Experience working with cloud environments, especially AWS, and testing data-driven applications.

6. Knowledge of web services testing including REST and SOAP APIs, along with JSON and XML data formats.

7. Familiarity with file transfer protocols such as FTP and testing data integration processes.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in identifying defects and inconsistencies.

9. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

10. Optional certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE and experience with automation tools are considered an added advantage.

The typical salary for a QA Manual Tester with 2–5 years of experience in India generally ranges between ₹6 LPA to ₹12 LPA, depending on expertise in database testing, cloud environments, and API validation.
