This is more than just a test automation role. The ideal candidate will lead from the front — mentoring QA engineers, crafting robust test strategies, driving automation at scale, and exploring modern testing approaches. You’ll work alongside global teams and world-class engineers to build performance-oriented, secure, and scalable financial solutions used across 200+ countries. Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers to elevate testing excellence across multiple product offerings.

Define and drive end-to-end test automation strategies, frameworks, and quality standards.

Collaborate with developers, product owners, and tech leads to integrate quality in all stages of development.

Take ownership of smoke tests, performance suites, and integration testing across environments.

Implement early automation using Karate, Selenium, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Chef.

Perform exploratory testing, execute chaos/mutation tests, and track test coverage metrics.

Conduct proof of concepts to enable new frameworks and tools to align with business demands.

Monitor, analyze, and report on automation runs and performance testing results.

Research and recommend new testing tools, techniques, or frameworks aligned with Mastercard’s evolving tech stack.

Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold Mastercard’s high standards of data security and code quality.
Requirements & Eligibility

7+ years of QA/testing experience with at least 2+ years in a lead or senior testing role.

Strong coding and automation background using Java, Karate (mandatory), Selenium, Postman, XPath, and MySQL.

Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, and Splunk.

Proven track record in building and maintaining test frameworks for unit, functional, and integration tests.

Expertise in CI/CD practices and tools including Jenkins, Maven, and Chef.

In-depth knowledge of test methodologies including BDD, TDD, Chaos Testing, and mutation testing.

Prior experience with cloud environments such as PCF, AWS, or Azure.

Excellent communication skills and ability to document, present, and influence QA strategy across teams.

A proactive mindset with the ability to handle ambiguity, take initiative, and drive solutions independently.
Expected Salary
💰 ₹28 LPA – ₹45 LPA (As per Glassdoor and senior QA automation lead roles in Pune’s fintech sector)
