Job Description

Wipro Limited is seeking an experienced Microfocus QTP – UFT Automation Testing Developer to join its growing QA and testing team in Hyderabad. This role is designed for professionals who specialize in automated testing with UFT/QTP, combined with additional expertise in SQL, web services testing, and functional validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks while ensuring product quality and reliability across multiple platforms.

As part of Wipro’s digital transformation initiatives, you will play a key role in executing functional, integration, and end-to-end test automation. Beyond scripting, you will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, participating actively in Agile development cycles, supporting both automation and manual testing efforts. Your ability to independently design and manage automation initiatives will contribute to delivering future-ready solutions for Wipro’s global clients.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance UFT/QTP automation scripts from scratch and update existing ones to meet project requirements.

• Design functional, integration, and end-to-end workflow test automation with both positive and negative data scenarios.

• Perform web service testing and validate system interactions across multiple applications.

• Write and execute SQL queries to support backend testing and validate data integrity.

• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure effective test coverage.

• Contribute to Agile development cycles by participating in sprint planning, test design, automation, and execution.

• Support a balanced testing approach with 80% automation and 20% manual testing as required.

• Take ownership of initiatives, manage risks, track defects, and close issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• Document test plans, strategies, and execution reports with clear detail and accuracy.

• Provide leadership and coordination when required, supporting smooth test delivery.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Strong hands-on experience in Microfocus UFT/QTP automation testing (mandatory).

• Proficiency in writing test automation scripts from scratch and maintaining scalable frameworks.

• Secondary skills in web service testing, with additional experience in Selenium automation preferred.

• Solid knowledge of SQL queries, Java, and SoapUI for backend validation and test coverage.

• Proven ability to work independently in both automation and manual testing environments.

• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Ability to design comprehensive test scenarios, covering functional, integration, and workflow aspects.

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills to identify root causes of defects.

• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage stakeholders and testing initiatives.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
