Job Description:
Qualcomm, a global leader in mobile and wireless technologies, is seeking energetic and innovative Associate Engineers in Software to join its Hyderabad and Chennai campuses. This role is ideal for recent graduates in Computer Science, Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) who aspire to develop cutting-edge software solutions for mobile chipsets. The Associate Engineer will contribute to real-time embedded software development, device drivers, and protocol stacks for multimedia, wireless modem, and IoT platforms. As an Associate Engineer at Qualcomm, you will work across a variety of domains including multimedia technologies such as audio, video, and imaging, as well as wireless communication standards including CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Your responsibilities will encompass development of mobile software for Android, Linux, or Windows platforms, device driver programming, kernel and BSP development, and protocol stack implementation. Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop real-time embedded software and device drivers for Qualcomm mobile chipsets.

  2. Work on multimedia technologies including audio, video, and image processing for mobile and embedded platforms.

  3. Implement software for wireless modems and connectivity standards including 4G, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

  4. Contribute to platform-level software development, including Linux, Android, Windows, and Board Support Packages (BSP).

  5. Develop and maintain communication protocol stacks such as TCP, UDP, IP, SIP, and RTP.

  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions aligned with technical requirements.

  7. Analyze system performance, troubleshoot software issues, and optimize code for efficiency and scalability.

  8. Participate in kernel, device driver, and firmware development for mobile and IoT devices.

  9. Apply object-oriented programming principles for application software and user interface development.

  10. Continuously learn and apply new technologies to enhance software performance and functionality.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Communication Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

  2. Strong understanding of operating system concepts, data structures, and object-oriented programming.

  3. Proficiency in C/C++ programming and embedded software development.

  4. Knowledge of wireless network standards such as CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

  5. Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environments, Linux kernel development, and driver programming.

  6. Exposure to multimedia technologies including audio, video, and imaging software.

  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex software and system issues.

  8. Ability to collaborate effectively in teams and communicate technical information clearly.

  9. Enthusiasm for learning cutting-edge technologies and contributing to innovative solutions.

  10. Flexibility to adapt to different software platforms and evolving project requirements.
