MetLife is hiring a Jr. Software Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Core Java development and a passion for building scalable, cloud-based solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals who want to work on modern technologies in an Agile development environment.

You will be responsible for end-to-end software development, from system design to deployment, and play a critical role in building microservices, hybrid mobile applications, and reusable UI components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud-based hybrid mobile applications from scratch

  • Build and maintain scalable microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud

  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Bamboo) for continuous delivery

  • Develop reusable UI components using ReactJS, AngularJS, or React Native

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and performance

  • Follow industry-standard coding practices and maintain clean, testable code

  • Take ownership of modules and contribute throughout the product lifecycle

  • Analyze complex problems and deliver robust, cost-effective solutions

  • Interface with both internal and external stakeholders when required

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Core Java, Advanced Java, and Java 8

  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture

  • Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

  • Familiarity with Redis, Docker, Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle

  • Understanding of CI/CD tools and front-end build tools like Gulp/Webpack

  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6) and frameworks like ReactJS, React Native, AngularJS, or Node.js

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounts, or related fields
