Zippee – QA Engineer

Job Description

Zippee is hiring a QA Engineer to join its core technology team at its Gurugram headquarters. As a fast-growing quick commerce logistics platform, Zippee enables consumer brands to deliver products within minutes through its advanced dark store network. This role is highly impactful and foundational, as the selected candidate will be responsible for building the QA function from scratch. The QA Engineer will work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure that all systems—from backend services to mobile applications—are reliable, scalable, and deliver a seamless user experience.

The role focuses on end-to-end system understanding and test strategy development. The QA Engineer will analyze how the platform operates across APIs, databases, and event-driven systems before designing test cases and automation frameworks. This includes building automation solutions for REST APIs, validating backend data using SQL, and implementing mobile automation using tools like Appium. The position requires strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to identifying gaps in testing coverage and improving system quality.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role demands ownership, adaptability, and a startup mindset. The QA Engineer will contribute to building scalable testing frameworks, integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring continuous quality improvements. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and build automation frameworks from scratch to support scalable testing across web, API, and mobile platforms.

2. Perform API testing and develop automation scripts using tools such as Postman, Newman, REST Assured, or Pytest.

3. Validate backend systems by writing SQL queries and performing database testing to ensure data integrity.

4. Execute manual and automated test cases to ensure application functionality, performance, and reliability.

5. Develop and maintain mobile automation frameworks using tools such as Appium for testing mobile applications.

6. Integrate testing frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.

7. Test event-driven and webhook-based systems to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.

8. Identify testing gaps, improve test coverage, and implement best practices for quality assurance processes.

9. Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand system architecture and ensure quality across features.

10. Continuously enhance testing strategies and frameworks to support rapid development and deployment cycles.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

2. 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing with strong expertise in automation framework development.

3. Proficiency in Python for building automation scripts and testing frameworks.

4. Hands-on experience in API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Pytest.

5. Strong knowledge of database testing and ability to write SQL queries for backend validation.

6. Experience with mobile automation tools such as Appium for testing mobile applications.

7. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI for automated testing integration.

8. Understanding of event-driven systems, webhook-based architectures, and distributed system testing.

9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in unstructured and fast-paced environments.

10. Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Expected Salary

The typical salary for a QA Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in India generally ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹25 LPA, depending on expertise in automation frameworks, backend testing, and startup experience.
