UST – Lead II: Software Testing (Senior Performance Testing)

Job Description:

UST is seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Testing professional for the role of Lead II – Software Testing at its Trivandrum location. This role is designed for experienced performance engineers who bring deep expertise in LoadRunner, Dynatrace, and AWS cloud environments. As a Senior Performance Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring enterprise applications deliver optimal speed, scalability, and reliability under varying load conditions. Your contribution will directly impact digital transformation initiatives by identifying performance bottlenecks and enhancing system stability before production releases.

In this leadership-oriented role, you will design and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies across cloud-native and distributed architectures. Leveraging tools like LoadRunner for test execution and Dynatrace for real-time performance monitoring, you will analyze application behavior, diagnose performance issues, and recommend tuning strategies. With hands-on exposure to AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch, you will validate system resilience in cloud environments. Your expertise will ensure seamless user experiences, faster response times, and improved application throughput.

Beyond technical execution, this role demands strong analytical thinking, collaboration, and documentation capabilities. You will work closely with developers, DevOps teams, architects, and business stakeholders to interpret system architecture and networking fundamentals. By applying performance engineering best practices and cloud monitoring techniques, you will help UST deliver scalable, high-performance enterprise solutions that align with business growth objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies using LoadRunner to evaluate system scalability, reliability, and response times under various load conditions.

2. Utilize Dynatrace for application performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and real-time diagnostics to identify bottlenecks across application layers.

3. Conduct performance testing in AWS cloud environments, validating system behavior across services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

4. Analyze test results, generate performance reports, and provide actionable recommendations for system optimization and tuning.

5. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to troubleshoot performance issues and implement effective remediation strategies.

6. Develop and maintain performance test scripts using scripting languages such as C, Python, or Bash for enhanced automation and flexibility.

7. Perform system monitoring and log analysis in Linux environments to diagnose infrastructure-level performance constraints.

8. Understand and interpret system architecture, networking fundamentals, and cloud computing concepts to ensure accurate performance validation.

9. Lead performance testing initiatives, mentor junior testers, and promote performance engineering best practices within the team.

10. Document testing methodologies, findings, and optimization strategies to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with organizational standards.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. 7–9 years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on expertise in performance testing using LoadRunner.

2. Strong proficiency in Dynatrace for application performance monitoring, diagnostics, and advanced performance analytics.

3. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch for cloud-based performance validation.

4. Basic to intermediate Linux skills, including shell scripting, system monitoring, process management, and file handling.

5. Familiarity with scripting languages such as C, Python, or Bash for developing and customizing performance test scripts.

6. Solid understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, cloud computing principles, and networking fundamentals.

7. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of performance degradation and propose scalable solutions.

8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present performance findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

9. Experience working in Agile or DevOps-driven environments with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with strong technical foundations.

Expected Salary:

For a Senior Performance Testing professional with 7–9 years of experience in Trivandrum, the typical salary range falls between ₹12 LPA to ₹20 LPA depending on expertise in LoadRunner, Dynatrace, AWS cloud performance engineering, and enterprise-scale application testing. Candidates with strong cloud performance optimization and leadership experience may receive compensation at the higher end of the market benchmark within the IT services industry.
