As a Quality Analyst at NatWest, you will serve as the quality guardian for your feature team, ensuring only well-designed, reliable, and secure solutions make their way to production. Your role will involve creating automated test suites, validating end-to-end workflows, and embedding quality practices into every stage of the development lifecycle. By leveraging your keen eye for detail and deep understanding of testing methodologies, you will play a crucial role in delivering digital experiences that are seamless, robust, and customer-focused.
This role goes beyond traditional quality assurance β it emphasizes proactive collaboration, continuous improvement, and a test-first mindset. You will support the team in defining testable requirements, building automation frameworks, and selecting the right testing layers for automation. With exposure to modern technologies, agile practices, and diverse testing types (functional and non-functional), you will directly impact the stability, performance, and security of NatWestβs digital offerings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with feature teams to define testable requirements and ensure deliverables are stable, secure, and high-performing.

Support the Quality Manager by executing the test strategy and advising on the right automation levels across layers.

Design and maintain diverse automation suites, including smoke tests, regression tests, and end-to-end test packs.

Apply functional and non-functional testing, covering system, integration, user, performance, security, and compatibility testing.

Analyze and report automated test results, providing actionable insights to the team and business stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement by adopting new tools, eliminating inefficiencies, and enhancing test coverage.

Ensure test plans are comprehensive and aligned with both customer outcomes and technical standards.

Promote agile testing practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

Contribute to knowledge sharing through documentation, peer collaboration, and mentoring team members.

Act as a quality advocate, ensuring that excellence is embedded in every stage of the product lifecycle.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Strong understanding of the entire software development and product lifecycle, including static, system, UAT, compliance, and operational readiness testing.

Hands-on experience in test automation tools and frameworks, with expertise in both functional and non-functional testing.

Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and API automation frameworks such as Rest Assured and Karate.

Practical knowledge of UI automation tools like Cypress, Playwright, and Selenium for front-end validation.

Experience in performance and security testing, including load, stress, volume, penetration, and accessibility testing.

Familiarity with agile testing practices, including TDD and BDD, to ensure high-quality delivery in iterative cycles.

Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills to handle complex test scenarios.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities to clearly articulate technical concepts to both peers and senior management.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with stakeholders across engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (advanced certifications in testing preferred).
