As a Software Engineer I, you'll contribute to the backbone of Poshmark’s data infrastructure—designing scalable pipelines, elevating data engineering standards, and powering insights that drive business decisions.

This role offers a dynamic environment where you'll independently handle small to medium-sized data engineering projects while collaborating closely on larger initiatives. Beyond executing tasks, you'll engage in design discussions, conduct code reviews, and gradually assume ownership of critical components within the data platform—all while aligning with industry best practices to maintain high performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Deliver small to medium-sized data engineering tasks with minimal guidance.

2. Participate in design discussions, share ideas, and suggest meaningful improvements.

3. Conduct code reviews and help maintain robust, scalable engineering standards.

4. Own and maintain key data pipeline components to ensure seamless operations.

5. Within six months: independently deliver high-quality, low-bug projects and elevate code quality across the team.

6. Within twelve months: take full ownership of at least one critical data pipeline or infrastructure component.

7. Engage in technical discussions to understand architectural trade-offs and drive strategic decisions.

8. Collaborate across cross-functional teams, ensuring data systems support product, analytics, and growth initiatives.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.

2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language—Python or Java preferred.

3. SQL Expertise: Ability to write and optimize queries for data extraction and transformation.

4. Core Fundamentals: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming (OOP), operating systems, and database fundamentals.

5. Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the capacity to tackle complexity and deliver efficient technical solutions.

6. Bonus Advantage: Exposure to building ETL processes, data pipelines, or internal tooling is highly valued.

7. Growth Orientation: Keen interest in evolving into a full-fledged data engineer by taking on pipeline ownership and engaging in strategic technical discussions.

Expected Salary
