Atos – Test Engineer

Job Description:
Atos, a global leader in secure and decarbonized digital transformation, is hiring a Test Engineer for its Chennai location. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) integrated with ERP, TMS, and YMS platforms. As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in validating real-time inventory movements, system integrations, and digital warehouse workflows. The position requires deep understanding of functional testing combined with modern automation practices to ensure seamless performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise supply chain systems.

In this role, you will design and execute automated test frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium, while also performing API validation through Postman or RestAssured. You will work with message queue systems like Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub and perform data validation using SQL or BigQuery. Performance testing will be a critical responsibility, leveraging tools such as JMeter, Gatling, K6, or LoadRunner to simulate warehouse workloads and measure end-to-end latency. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes will ensure high-quality releases in agile delivery cycles.

Beyond core testing tasks, the Test Engineer at Atos will leverage observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana for QA monitoring and system tracing. Experience testing mobile and RF devices (Honeywell, Zebra, Android-based devices) will support warehouse operations testing. The role also encourages the use of AI-driven tools for test case generation, automation optimization, and code refactoring. With strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities, you will contribute to Agile or SAFe environments, driving continuous improvement and ensuring enterprise-grade quality across digital transformation projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Validate end-to-end WMS functional flows, including inventory movements and system integrations with ERP, TMS, and YMS platforms.

2. Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent tools.

3. Perform API testing using Postman or RestAssured and validate message queues such as Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub.

4. Conduct SQL and BigQuery-based data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity across warehouse systems.

5. Execute performance testing using JMeter, Gatling, K6, or LoadRunner to simulate real-time warehouse workloads.

6. Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

7. Manage containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure scalable testing infrastructure.

8. Utilize observability and tracing tools like OpenTelemetry and Grafana for monitoring and debugging.

9. Test mobile and RF applications deployed on Honeywell, Zebra, or Android-based devices within warehouse ecosystems.

10. Lead QA initiatives within Agile/Scrum or SAFe frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.

2. Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) functional flows and real-time integration with ERP, TMS, and YMS systems.

3. Hands-on experience in automation testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies.

4. Expertise in API testing, message queue validation, and backend data validation using SQL or BigQuery.

5. Proficiency in performance testing tools including JMeter, Gatling, K6, or LoadRunner.

6. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

7. Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Dynatrace alternatives.

8. Experience testing mobile or RF-based warehouse devices (Honeywell, Zebra, Android platforms).

9. Familiarity with AI-powered tools for test case generation, automation enhancement, and code review processes.

10. Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with experience in Agile or SAFe methodologies.

Expected Salary:

For a Test Engineer with strong automation, WMS domain expertise, and CI/CD exposure in Chennai, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹22 LPA depending on experience level, technical depth, and leadership exposure. Compensation may vary based on performance, prior enterprise system experience, and proficiency in advanced testing tools.
