Job Description:

As an Associate Software Engineer at Tech Mahindra, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth technical operations within large-scale Telecom and IT systems. You will be responsible for providing first-level technical support, managing incident reports, and ensuring continuous availability of OSS platforms such as order management, provisioning, and inventory management systems.

In this role, youโ€™ll work closely with cross-functional technical teams, utilizing industry-standard tools like Remedy or ServiceNow to manage tickets and maintain workflow efficiency. Youโ€™ll be expected to monitor system alerts, identify recurring issues, and collaborate with Level 2 engineers to resolve them promptly. The position requires a proactive mindset, quick analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of ITIL-based incident management processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support for OSS systems including order management, provisioning, and inventory management, ensuring high system availability.

  • Monitor alerts and identify potential issues in real time, escalating critical incidents to Level 2 teams when required.

  • Utilize ITIL-based frameworks to manage and document incidents effectively within ticketing tools such as Remedy or ServiceNow.

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and suggest preventive measures to enhance system stability.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve service quality across multiple telecom projects.

  • Ensure accurate logging, tracking, and resolution of incidents within defined SLAs to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Participate in shift operations, providing 24x7 system support to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

  • Prepare status reports and maintain documentation of resolved incidents for process improvement and knowledge sharing.

  • Assist in mentoring new team members and share domain-specific expertise related to Telecom OSS systems.

  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to ensure clarity in incident handling and service updates.


Requirements & Eligibility:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering field.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working on Telecom-related projects or technical support environments.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident and Problem Management frameworks.

  • Proficiency in using ticketing tools such as Remedy, ServiceNow, or equivalent platforms.

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and ensure timely resolution of service incidents.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to work in a rotational shift setup, supporting round-the-clock service operations.

  • Basic knowledge of OSS/BSS concepts in Telecom, including provisioning and inventory systems, is preferred.

  • A team-oriented mindset with leadership potential to handle responsibilities independently when needed.


Expected Salary:
