Job Description:
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited is offering an exciting opportunity for an Intern – Tool Developer within its Wind Power Technology business unit in Bangalore. As a global leader in renewable energy and wind turbine manufacturing, Siemens Gamesa is committed to driving sustainable energy transformation. In this role, you will support the Tower and Foundation team responsible for site-specific wind turbine load calculations and structural design. This internship provides hands-on exposure to engineering software development that directly contributes to safe, reliable, and high-performance wind energy solutions.
As part of the Design Tools (DT) team, you will work on maintaining and enhancing an extensive engineering toolchain primarily developed in MATLAB and Python. The team focuses on engineering process automation, such as structural load calculations, and improving user experience for a diverse group of engineers across global locations. Operating in a DevOps environment, you will contribute to continuous integration, software quality improvements, and feature development. This role offers a unique blend of engineering, programming, and renewable energy domain exposure within a collaborative international setup.
The position also emphasizes collaboration with engineers and business stakeholders, ensuring that developed tools meet real-world engineering requirements. You will assist in debugging, troubleshooting production issues, and delivering well-tested, documented, and maintainable code. By contributing to innovative engineering tools, you will help strengthen Siemens Gamesa’s mission of delivering sustainable, reliable, and affordable wind energy solutions globally.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Design Tools team to enhance and maintain engineering software primarily developed in MATLAB and Python.

Contribute to adding new features and improving existing functionalities within the wind turbine load calculation toolchain.

Support process automation initiatives aimed at improving structural analysis and engineering efficiency.

Assist in debugging and resolving production-level software issues to ensure uninterrupted engineering operations.

Develop high-quality, well-documented, and testable code following established software development best practices.

Participate in DevOps workflows, including version control, testing, and continuous integration activities.

Engage with engineers and business stakeholders to understand user requirements and deliver practical software solutions.

Help improve user experience by optimizing tool performance and interface design.

Maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and transparency across global teams.

Contribute proactively to team discussions and continuous improvement initiatives within an international environment.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python, with the ability to develop structured and maintainable code.

Basic understanding of software development principles, including debugging, testing, and documentation standards.

Proficiency in MS Office tools for reporting, analysis, and communication purposes.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate with international teams.

Expected Salary:
For a full-time technical internship role in Bangalore within the renewable energy and engineering technology sector, the typical stipend range generally falls between ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 per month depending on academic background and technical proficiency.
