💰 Expected Stipend: ₹25,000 – ₹45,000 per month (subject to qualifications and experience)

About the Internship

FOX Tech is seeking a talented Android Intern (Playback Engineering) to help shape the future of video streaming. This internship offers hands-on exposure to building seamless video playback experiences for live and on-demand content. You’ll work with adaptive bitrate streaming, player SDKs, and cutting-edge video delivery technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and optimization of video playback on Android for both live and VOD streams.

  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented Kotlin/Java code.

  • Support improvements in SDKs, sample apps, and internal tools.

  • Investigate and resolve performance, memory, and ANR issues across various Android devices.

  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to learn and grow in a media tech-driven environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pursuing a B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science or related field.

  • Available for a full-time hybrid internship based in Bengaluru, India.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.

  • Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.

  • Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good understanding of Android application architecture.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with ExoPlayer, Media3, or similar media frameworks.

  • Knowledge of streaming protocols like HLS/DASH and video codecs (H.264, HEVC, AV1).

  • Exposure to JNI/C++ for performance modules.

  • Experience with media or video-related projects (GitHub/Play Store/Class projects).

  • Interest in live video streaming, FFmpeg, or computer vision overlays.
