Job Description

Wipro is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer – L4 to join its dynamic technology team in Bengaluru. This role is focused on streamlining collaboration between application teams, developers, and operations engineers by building and maintaining highly automated pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). As part of this position, you will be directly responsible for enabling faster, more reliable software delivery while ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Continuous Integration & Deployment – Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support application lifecycles across coding, building, testing, and deployment stages.

2. Infrastructure Management – Manage and optimize IT infrastructure to meet the requirements of supported applications and software code.

3. Application Onboarding – Onboard applications onto DevOps tools, configure them as per client needs, and ensure smooth adoption.

4. Tool Engineering & Customization – Build, configure, and engineer DevOps tools based on specific client requirements.

5. Collaboration & Automation – Work with development teams to create scripts and automation frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

6. Testing & Deployment Automation – Leverage DevOps tools to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring activities across environments.

7. Customer Support – Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers, resolving DevOps tool-related issues within defined SLAs.

8. Troubleshooting & RCA – Investigate critical issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure repeatable problems are eliminated.

9. Escalation Management – Follow the escalation matrix for unresolved issues and ensure timely communication and resolution.

10. Performance & Monitoring – Ensure error-free implementation of CI/CD processes, monitor system performance, and meet defined KPIs like CSAT and TAT.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

• Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering roles with proven delivery.

• Technical Skills: Strong command over CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Mandatory Expertise: Proficiency in DevOps practices and toolchains (Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

• Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services.

• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with application monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.

• Certifications: DevOps-related certifications or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are highly desirable.

Expected Salary

For a DevOps Engineer – L4 at Wipro in Bengaluru, the typical salary range is:

• ₹12 LPA – ₹20 LPA for professionals with 5–8 years of relevant experience.

• Candidates with advanced cloud certifications and leadership experience can earn up to ₹24 LPA.

Globally, similar roles at this level are compensated between $100,000 – $140,000 annually, depending on expertise and responsibilities.
