Job Description:

Morgan Stanley is hiring a DB Developer (Associate – Software Engineering) to join its Wealth Management Technology team in Bengaluru. This role is part of the Wealth Management Product Technology (WMPT) division, which focuses on building innovative and scalable technology solutions for private banking and financial services. As a DB Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining database systems that power core banking applications, including lending, cash management, and digital banking platforms. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about data engineering, database optimization, and financial technology solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, application developers, and data engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality database solutions. You will be responsible for database design, ETL processes, and performance optimization using technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata. The role requires strong expertise in SQL programming, data analysis, and database architecture, ensuring efficient data flow and accurate reporting across systems. You will also contribute to system enhancements and support critical production environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions to support business applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support data processing and reporting requirements.
  • Perform data analysis and database design, ensuring efficient data structures and optimal storage strategies for large datasets.
  • Collaborate with business partners, developers, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical database solutions.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes using tools like SSIS and Informatica to ensure smooth data integration and transformation.
  • Conduct database performance tuning and SQL optimization to improve system efficiency and reduce query execution time.
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for database and data flow systems.
  • Ensure adherence to security guidelines, data governance policies, and best practices in database management.
  • Support production environments by troubleshooting issues, analyzing logs, and implementing fixes to maintain system stability.
  • Work in Agile development environments, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in database development using SQL/PLSQL in distributed and enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in RDBMS systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata, with in-depth knowledge of database architecture and design.
  • Advanced SQL programming skills, including writing stored procedures, triggers, and implementing referential integrity constraints.
  • Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and handling large-scale datasets efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as SSIS and Informatica for data integration and transformation processes.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and database design principles in complex systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative team environments.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git and development workflows is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps tools and practices, along with exposure to cloud technologies like Azure and programming languages like Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
