Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and maintain the operational health and uptime of HPC clusters, compute nodes, and storage systems.

  2. Learn to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across distributed computing environments.

  3. Support automation initiatives by writing scripts in Python or Bash to streamline repetitive administrative tasks.

  4. Assist in developing tools and workflows to improve system administration and deployment efficiency.

  5. Set up and optimize monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to ensure proactive incident detection.

  6. Participate in incident response processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  7. Collaborate with senior engineers to support HPC users, helping them run workloads efficiently and troubleshoot issues.

  8. Document operational procedures, runbooks, and solutions to share knowledge with the team.

  9. Stay updated with the latest HPC, cloud, and containerization technologies and apply learnings to improve systems.

  10. Engage in training programs and hands-on projects to build expertise in high-performance computing and site reliability engineering.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Final-year students are welcome to apply.

  2. Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and system administration fundamentals.

  3. Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, or C++) for automation tasks.

  4. Knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS) and distributed computing principles.

  5. Interest in HPC systems, cloud infrastructure, parallel computing, and workload scheduling technologies such as LSF.

  6. Exposure to containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes is an advantage.

  7. Hands-on experience with academic projects or internships involving HPC, automation, or systems management preferred.

  8. Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new technologies.

  9. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and follow guidance from senior engineers.

  10. Strong communication and documentation skills to assist in cross-team collaboration and user support.
