Job Description:
GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking an enthusiastic Automation QA Junior Engineer to contribute to testing next-generation multimedia products such as Smart TVs, Set-top Boxes (STB), and OTT applications. This role focuses on implementing automation scripts for high-priority test cases, ensuring functional and performance validation of software against specifications and product requirements. You will play a crucial role in analyzing, documenting, and reporting software issues, while working in close collaboration with development teams to enhance product quality. Exposure to automation frameworks and Python-based testing ensures that you actively contribute to continuous improvement in QA processes.

The position involves performing end-to-end validation of new functionalities, troubleshooting software issues, and creating detailed test plans. You will work with various broadcasting standards such as ATSC, DVB, and MPEG, and handle multimedia content in multiple audio/video codecs, including HLS, MP4, and MKV. By automating repetitive and critical manual tests, you will help accelerate the testing process, reduce human errors, and improve overall efficiency. Your role directly impacts the quality and reliability of consumer electronics products delivered to end users globally.

Additionally, the Automation QA Junior Engineer will interact with clients to understand requirements, review software specifications, and participate in usability testing. You will document testing outcomes, report bugs via tools like JIRA or TestRail, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet the highest standards. Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Execute automated test scripts for high-priority (P0/P1) functionality, enhancing coverage of Smart TV, STB, and OTT applications.

2. Assist in end-to-end validation of new software features, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements.

3. Analyze software behavior, identify defects, and document issues in detail using bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA and TestRail.

4. Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot issues and provide actionable recommendations for defect resolution.

5. Write and execute test plans and scenarios for consumer electronics products, covering multimedia functionalities and home networking features.

6. Automate repetitive manual test cases to improve QA efficiency and reduce human errors, focusing on critical product functionality.

7. Conduct usability testing to ensure software meets end-user expectations and offers a seamless user experience.

8. Work with broadcasting standards (ATSC, DVB, MPEG) and multiple audio/video codecs (HLS, MP4, MKV) to validate multimedia content.

9. Participate in knowledge sharing, learning, and development activities to enhance skills in automation, Python, and multimedia testing.

10. Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to clarify requirements, expectations, and testing outcomes.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in automation testing, preferably with Python and BDD frameworks.

2. Experience in Smart TVs, Set-top Boxes (STB), or multimedia product testing, including OTT applications.

3. Understanding of broadcasting standards such as ATSC, DVB, and MPEG.

4. Hands-on experience with automation frameworks, test scripting, and execution of automated test cases.

5. Knowledge of home networking, Wi-Fi, and audio/video streaming protocols; familiarity with audio/video codecs such as HLS, MP4, and MKV.

6. Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies to ensure quality and compliance.

7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to identify defects and provide clear root cause analysis.

8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and collaborate with teams effectively.

9. Educational background in BE/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication (E&C), Computer Science, or equivalent fields.

10. Exposure to test management and bug tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.

Expected Salary:
For an Automation QA Junior Engineer in Bangalore, India, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹4,50,000 and ₹7,00,000 per annum, depending on experience and technical proficiency.
