DevOps Engineer – AWS Cloud Modernization

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with expertise in AWS cloud modernization to join our technology team in Bengaluru. This role demands a strong background in application migration, modernization strategies, and AWS architecture. The successful candidate will lead discovery, assessment, and transformation initiatives, ensuring seamless migration of enterprise applications to the cloud.

You will play a pivotal role in defining architectures, executing migration roadmaps, and enabling organizations to leverage the power of AWS cloud services.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Application Assessment & Strategy

   • Lead the Discovery & Assessment exercise for enterprise applications.

   • Conduct R-Lane Analysis (Retire, Retain, Replace, Rehost, Refactor, etc.) to determine modernization paths.

   • Perform Complexity Analysis of applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure.

2. Dependency & Suitability Analysis

   • Build a Dependency Matrix to map interdependencies across applications, infra, and databases.

   • Conduct Cloud Suitability Analysis to evaluate readiness and feasibility for cloud migration.

3. Modernization & Migration Planning

   • Recommend strategies like Lift-and-Shift, Refactoring, or Re-architecting based on business goals.

   • Develop high-level migration roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.

   • Lead and mentor teams executing application migrations to AWS.

4. Architecture & Implementation

   • Define and design modernization architectures leveraging AWS native services.

   • Perform the role of Application Architect for AWS modernization programs.

   • Ensure solutions meet scalability, reliability, and cost optimization standards.

5. Collaboration & Documentation

   • Work closely with IT, business units, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business outcomes.

   • Document findings, recommendations, and technical strategies in clear, concise formats.

   • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and project sponsors.

Requirements & Eligibility

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience delivering cloud-based application modernization programs.

• Strong expertise in AWS services for migration and modernization.

• Hands-on experience with application dependency mapping, complexity analysis, and R-Lane strategy.

• Experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) – Mandatory.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication with ability to explain complex solutions simply.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading enterprise-scale app modernization projects.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless frameworks.

• Working knowledge of database migration (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).

• Exposure to Agile methodologies and global delivery models.

Expected Salary

For a DevOps Engineer role in Bengaluru, the expected salary typically ranges between:

• ₹12 LPA – ₹20 LPA (Mid-level)

• ₹20 LPA – ₹28 LPA (Senior-level with AWS Solutions Architect certification and proven modernization delivery experience)
