Job Description:
Capco, a Wipro company and a globally recognized technology and management consulting firm, is hiring a Junior Automation Test Engineer for its Bangalore (Sarjapur) office. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding project requirements, designing and executing test cases, and performing both manual and automated testing across banking and trading platforms. You will work with technologies such as Selenium, SQL, Unix, and Java or Python to validate application performance, data accuracy, and system stability. The position requires strong analytical skills to identify defects, analyze test results, and provide structured feedback. Collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams, you will ensure that every release meets functional and quality standards before deployment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Understand detailed project requirements, business workflows, and testing objectives to ensure accurate validation of banking and trading applications.

Design, develop, and execute structured test cases and automation scripts aligned with functional specifications and release timelines.

Perform manual and automated testing across various modules to ensure application stability, performance, and data integrity.

Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium along with Java or Python to enhance test efficiency and coverage.

Execute SQL queries to validate backend data, ensuring accurate database transactions and reporting outputs.

Utilize Unix/Linux commands and scripting for environment validation, log analysis, and execution of automation scripts.

Identify, log, and track defects using bug-tracking tools, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution with development teams.

Analyze test results, prepare structured reports, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and project leads.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning sessions, and release discussions to align testing deliverables with project milestones.

Continuously learn and apply best practices in automation testing, SDLC, and STLC to improve overall product quality.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with a strong academic foundation in programming and databases.

Good understanding of Java and/or Python programming, with the ability to write automation scripts and troubleshoot basic code issues.

Strong knowledge of SQL for writing queries, validating database entries, and ensuring data consistency during test execution.

Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and basic shell scripting to support testing in different environments.

Hands-on or academic exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG is highly desirable.

Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) concepts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in identifying edge cases and system vulnerabilities.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a consulting environment.

Willingness to work in rotational shifts (5:30 AM – 2:30 PM, 2:30 PM – 9:30 PM, 9:30 PM – 6:30 AM IST) as per project requirements.
