Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions.

• Build and maintain distributed storage, indexing, and query systems with high availability and low latency.

• Work on innovative solutions in large-scale computing environments using modern programming and cloud technologies.

• Apply computer science fundamentals to solve real-world challenges in data structures, algorithms, and system design.

• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from concept to deployment.

• Contribute to new features, tools, and systems that enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency.

• Work in an agile environment, performing regular code reviews and testing to ensure software reliability and performance.

• Learn continuously through Amazon’s culture of mentorship, feedback, and on-the-job training.

Requirements & Eligibility:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages.

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and object-oriented programming.

• Good knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and database fundamentals.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

• Experience with AWS, big data frameworks, or cloud-native architectures.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguous and complex engineering problems independently.

Expected Salary:

The typical compensation for a Software Development Engineer I (SDE I) at Amazon India ranges between ₹17 LPA and ₹22 LPA, including base pay, joining bonus, and performance-based components. Actual pay may vary based on location, skills, and interview performance.
