Job Description
The Engineer – Software Test & Release position at Sasken in Bengaluru is an early-career opportunity for engineering graduates and MCA professionals interested in software testing, quality assurance, release activities, debugging, and technical support. The role involves working across key stages of the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, defect resolution, documentation, and technical support within an assigned technology area. As a software test and release engineer, candidates will help ensure that software deliverables meet defined quality and productivity standards while being completed within expected timelines. The position is particularly suitable for professionals with 0–2 years of experience who want to strengthen their understanding of software quality processes and gain practical exposure to structured engineering workflows within a technology-focused organization.
A major part of the role involves identifying problems in existing systems and modifying or supporting them by following established work procedures. Engineers will be responsible for completing day-to-day technical activities while adhering to defined guidelines, checklists, quality standards, and organizational processes. This can include writing or modifying code, executing software tests, identifying bugs, supporting defect fixes, preparing technical documentation, and providing technical assistance for assigned systems. The position requires attention to detail because testing and release activities directly influence software reliability and the quality of products delivered to customers. Engineers will also communicate status updates to team leads, helping ensure that project progress, technical challenges, and delivery expectations remain visible to the broader team.
The role also places strong emphasis on continuous technical development. Sasken expects engineers to enhance their capabilities through formal training, self-study, technical assessments, and regular exposure to engineering practices. This makes the position valuable for graduates who want to build a long-term career in software testing, QA engineering, release engineering, software development, debugging, and technical support. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop stronger problem-solving skills while learning how professional engineering teams manage deliverables, quality checks, documentation, and release-related responsibilities. By combining hands-on technical work with structured learning and process discipline, the position can provide a solid foundation for progressing into more advanced software testing, automation, development, or release engineering roles.
