Job Description

The Trainee Software Engineer position at Zapare Technologies is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career developers who want to establish a strong foundation in software development and full-stack engineering. Based in Koratty, this role is part of the Product & AI Engineering team and provides hands-on exposure to building modern cloud-based applications under the guidance of experienced software engineers. Trainees will work primarily with Python and Django for backend development while gaining practical experience in ReactJS for creating responsive and user-friendly interfaces. The position also provides exposure to PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, software testing, debugging, code reviews, technical discussions, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), making it suitable for candidates eager to build broad development skills.

As a Trainee Software Engineer at Zapare Technologies, candidates will gradually transition from foundational programming knowledge to practical software engineering responsibilities. The role involves assisting senior developers with application development, implementing functional requirements, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting defects, and supporting software enhancements. Developers will have the opportunity to understand how backend services, frontend interfaces, databases, and cloud-based application components work together to deliver complete software solutions. Working with Python and Django will help candidates develop server-side programming capabilities, while ReactJS will provide experience in modern frontend development. Exposure to PostgreSQL and MySQL will further strengthen their understanding of relational databases, data storage, querying, and application-level data retrieval.

The position is also designed around continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development. Candidates will gain practical knowledge of software development best practices, coding standards, testing methodologies, debugging processes, documentation, and SDLC activities while working alongside experienced team members. Strong analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, and curiosity are important because trainees are expected to learn new technologies and progressively take on more development responsibilities. For candidates with 0–1 year of Python development experience, this opportunity can serve as a stepping stone toward careers such as Python Developer, Django Developer, Full Stack Developer, React Developer, Software Engineer, Backend Developer, or Cloud Application Developer. The role is particularly suitable for graduates who want practical project exposure rather than limiting their learning to academic programming concepts.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Assist with software application development by working with senior engineers to understand requirements, implement assigned functionality, and contribute to reliable cloud-based software solutions.
  2. Develop application functionality using Python and Django, applying programming fundamentals and established development practices to build maintainable backend components.
  3. Build and enhance responsive user interfaces using ReactJS, contributing to frontend components that are functional, accessible, responsive, and aligned with application requirements.
  4. Work with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases to support application data storage and retrieval, while developing an understanding of relational database structures and data management.
  5. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with experienced developers, learning how professional engineering teams evaluate code quality, maintainability, performance, and development practices.
  6. Support software testing and debugging activities by identifying defects, reproducing reported issues, investigating possible causes, and implementing appropriate bug fixes under guidance.
  7. Contribute to software enhancements and feature improvements by understanding functional requirements and helping transform them into working application components.
  8. Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to development activities, software enhancements, implementation details, troubleshooting procedures, and other relevant project information.
  9. Follow software development best practices and coding standards to ensure that code is readable, maintainable, testable, and consistent with established engineering guidelines.
  10. Gain practical exposure to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by participating in development, testing, debugging, documentation, review, and improvement activities throughout the application lifecycle.
  11. Collaborate with developers and other team members to understand project requirements, discuss technical challenges, share progress, and contribute toward delivering high-quality software within expected timelines.
  12. Continuously learn new technologies and development practices, particularly in Python, Django, ReactJS, databases, cloud-based applications, testing, and modern full-stack software engineering.

Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. A technical academic background provides the programming and software engineering fundamentals required for this position.
  2. Experience: The position is suitable for candidates with 0–1 year of experience in Python development, making it relevant for fresh graduates, entry-level developers, and candidates with internship or academic project exposure.
  3. Python Fundamentals: Candidates should have a basic understanding of Python programming, including variables, functions, data structures, control flow, object-oriented concepts, and basic problem-solving approaches.
  4. Programming Knowledge: Applicants should understand fundamental programming concepts and be comfortable learning new frameworks and technologies as part of their professional development.
  5. Django Learning Ability: Prior Django expertise is not necessarily required, but candidates should be willing to learn Django and Python-based web application development and apply those concepts in real-world projects.
  6. ReactJS & Web Technologies: Candidates should have an interest in modern frontend development and be willing to develop their knowledge of ReactJS, responsive interfaces, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web application concepts.
  7. Database Fundamentals: Basic familiarity with relational databases is beneficial. Candidates should be prepared to learn how PostgreSQL and MySQL are used for storing, retrieving, and managing application data.
  8. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical reasoning and analytical thinking are important for debugging software, understanding technical requirements, identifying defects, and developing practical solutions.
  9. Communication & Teamwork: Candidates should communicate clearly with team members, ask questions when requirements are unclear, participate in technical discussions, and work collaboratively within a software development environment.
  10. Learning Mindset: The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about learning new technologies, development methodologies, cloud-based application development, testing practices, coding standards, and modern software engineering techniques.

Expected Salary

For a Trainee Software Engineer with 0–1 year of experience in Kerala, a realistic entry-level salary expectation can generally fall around ₹2.5 lakh to ₹4.5 lakh per year, depending on technical skills, academic background, practical project experience, and the company's final compensation structure.
