Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts for testing web, mobile, and API applications within a SaaS product ecosystem.
- Design and execute automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, usability, and regression scenarios.
- Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and faster release management.
- Analyze manual test cases and identify repetitive or high-priority testing scenarios suitable for automation implementation.
- Maintain, optimize, and upgrade existing automation frameworks to align with product enhancements and evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Execute automated test suites regularly and analyze test results to identify defects, regressions, and application inconsistencies.
- Report, document, track, and verify software bugs and defects using Jira and other defect management tools.
- Validate APIs, backend services, and database transactions to ensure system stability and data integrity across applications.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning sessions, and technical discussions to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adopting modern testing tools, automation strategies, and quality engineering best practices.
- Support the organization’s long-term quality assurance goals by enhancing automation coverage and reducing manual testing dependency.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong foundational programming knowledge in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript.
- Good understanding of software testing methodologies including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM manipulation, and RESTful API concepts for validating modern web applications.
- Ability to write SQL queries for database validation, data verification, and ensuring backend data integrity.
- Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks is highly preferred.
- Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git, and collaborative code management practices.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts and continuous testing methodologies in modern DevOps environments.
- Strong analytical thinking and debugging capabilities to identify root causes of defects and system failures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting technical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for software quality, automation engineering, and continuous learning in emerging testing technologies.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, frameworks, and software engineering practices within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
- Demonstrated interest in automation testing, quality engineering, and long-term growth toward an SDET career path.
